Romantically Connected

 The moment he saved my good pictures with my bad pictures too, that give me butterflies in my stomach. We first met during the lockdown. Stuck in different cities with timezones apart we felt more for each other. We talked more than we would have ever done in our busy schedules. I woke up to his texts filled with good morning kisses and went to bed filled with his warm hugs. on our first virtual date, I dressed for him. I draped myself in a red saree and when he came online after few minutes I rose in happiness seeing him wearing that black shirt that I have delivered to his doorstep on Christmas eve. He savored his plate of cakes and pastries while I was just sitting playing with the spoons and watching him eating. We messed up virtually slurping bowls of noodles over the screens. The split screens shared made our emotions gradually came alive. I am introverted and shy while texting him. His texts sometimes give me goosebumps but I replied with emojis after calming myself. After the six long months, our first-ever coffee date happened with masks on our faces beholding the huge smile behind it. Our virtual romance came to life we both were speechless and felt bonded to each other with strings of love amongst the crowd. Holding sanitizer like a shinning armor he kissed over my gloves. our eyes met and we find electric currents running inside my veins.

Dalgona coffee came and we started our unfiltered conversations and nonstop smiles throughout. Despite socially distanced, our romance touched each other's hearts mystically. Finally, my dream came true of walking in a garden holding each other's hand. The feeling of it I still cherished when I think of it. A date in a five-star hotel couldn't have done that soft underlying grasses did. The roadside vada pavs and the red and green chutneys in the lip-smacking puchkas made our dates more special. We didn't want to go home but we have to. Later he texted me the picture of me wearing the beautiful jumkas he gifted me. I reacted to the picture giving it heart-eyed emojis. I guess we fell in love being romantically connected to each other beating the villain corona.
