The morning sunlight kissed her half awaken face and gave a shine to those eyes that had been numb for days. She wanted to drown deeper in her pool of bedsheets or say her emotions. She was now addicted to those tears and maybe that was the only emotion she could feel.

This was a routine that only her room knew and if those table, lamps and curtains were alive they too would pity her. Like everyday, she had to make the choice to throw those sheets away. She had to get up and cover those dark circles with make up.

She stepped out of her room with a smiling face. She was a pretty lady whom most envied. That day was a festival; the festival of colours. She hoped that this festival could bring colours to her dark room as well.

She tried to make way through the vibrant crowd of happy faces. There were many but there was nobody. It had been two years since she met her husband. They talked but they felt distant. He could not come today as well. After her family's demise in a huge accident, he was the only person she has as her family.

She was engrossed in her thoughts" how magical it would be if he was here". A handful of green gulal decorated her white attire on one side. Some yellow colour came floating from the other side. Pink on one hand and blue on another, and she was gracefully decorated.

She was hugged from behind and followed a whisper" Happy Holi Rangoli. I am here."

She turned around and that was the moment her heart smiled. That was the day when her room was to be filled with life.

That was the day when their paused story had to start again.
