I can still feel her hand in mine. I can still feel her cheek brushing against mine. I can still feel her hand ruffling my hair. I can still feel the intensity of her embrace. I can still feel her deep brown eyes locked into mine. I can still feel her breath in my breath. I can still feel her soul in my soul.

She was a fairy. Everything about her was magical. She was magical. And I think she has left a bit of that magic in my soul.

I remember that day at office, when she had been new to town and work. And then, we worked together. We were so very similar. It was as if we were one soul dwelling in two bodies. We confided in each other; she knew every single thing about me, and I knew every single thing about her... except one.

We lived like this for more than a decade. And we wanted to live like this till infinity.

And I still remember that evening in the park. She looked sad, trying to fight tears back.

"What is it?", I asked.

"Before I came to this town", she said." I had promised my mother that after she retired, I would go and stay with her for the rest of my life."

"Oh...So?"

"She retired today."

And just like that, she went away. What she never knew about me was that I had promised the same to my mother, that I will stay with her, in this town, till the very end.

I think she knew about my promise all along. We never write any letter to each other, because if we know that if we do, we won't be able to hold ourselves back, and we won't be able to complete our promises to our mothers. It is as if we have promised to each other, in our hearts, never to show love, but to keep loving, no matter what.

And I can still feel her soul in my soul. She was a fairy. She was magical. And I think she has left a bit of that magic in my soul.
