Pied Piper of Hamelin

We had a girls school where I did my secondary school education . School was famous for it's best teachers , principal , it's administration , strictness and education standard . 

We had science subject class that day , teacher came to class . We all were ready with our science book and our notebook , on our desk . Though we all know that Science , Maths are the most hated , boring and difficult subjects for average students .

But teacher seemed very happy and many a times she used to surprise us like this by telling us stories of Shakespeare and other famous stories . She asked us , " are you bored today ? " We all said , " yes mam . "

So that day she narrated us the story of "Pan Piper" also known as " Pied Piper " .Story was so interesting and we all liked it. Such stories and their main characters sometimes are so solid and unusual that we can never forget them . Pan Piper is one of that for me . Also again I watched this story on TV one day and that character became unforgettable for me for life time .

How a town of Germany called Hamelin, was suffering from rat infestation and plague due to that , a dangerously spreading disease .People were suffering and feared , a Mayor of town didn't understand how to drive away and throw away those rats from the town and get rid of them.

A Pied Piper also known as rat catcher assured the Mayor that he has a solution to this. He will take away all the rats from the town but he will charge his price for that .a deal of 1000 guilders to be paid by Mayor was done . So as promised a Pied Piper , with his skill , played pipe and with his colourful dressing he lure the rats into Weser River , where they all drained.

As promised , Mayor refuse to pay him as people were not ready to pay their share. So Pied Piper think of taking revenge one day , and when all the elders of town were in church , he lure and drive away children with him from town . And 3 children amongst them remain behind from crowd as one was lame , second was deaf and third was blind . So they informed villagers about what had happened . There are many versions and many different stories are written on how and what he does with children . 

How and why this character is memorable is because of its appearance. His colourful dress and cap that he was wearing . His music , that he used to play with Pipe and lure others with it's sound . A very unique character . Some stories have happy ending whereas some have not .
