My first experience of travel without parents

My first experience of travel without parents

I have almost completed my first solo travel trip and I'd thought to share my experience with you.

I had been travelling round the USA and Canada for about 4 weeks now. I started with my family but they had to leave. I am a boy, this is first time I've been away from home and that too, had to be independent which seems pretty nerve wracking but I ended up adapting so quickly as I had no other choice. I have always been alone, so I'm completely fine with my own company. A lot of people sitting around me were surprised seeing me travel alone. I have been such a shy and petite, so I feel it's just great to show them what I can do , and it absolutely trembled my confidence.

After I got down and reached the destined point, I stayed in hotels, where I learnt to meet new people. At the start of my trip, I felt shy to meet new people, but now at the end of trip, it is like I have got so used to do that.

Travelling solo as a young boy has its own advantage and disadvantages. It is not as much fun travelling with everyone. But to improve one's confidence, it needs solo travel. At hotel, the downsides are carrying your heavy luggage and at night time you cannot go outside as it is dangerous, so you should just sit alone!

In the past two weeks, I had started to feel alone. You know, I just couldn't express anyone what I was going through, so I missed my home. I now feel that I had the trip of lifetime, and I loved travelling solo at such a tender age! It gave me confidence and independence, and proves I can do things!

Although I have liked travelling alone, but I do not think I will do it anytime soon. I definitely think to have a travel buddy with me next time. I returned from the trip just a day before with a lot of sweet and fond memories.
