Mirror

We all are sitting on the floor. Tired of rehearsal, I was offering drinks to my friends. After a few minutes, they started discussing current affairs then films. I sit in a corner. As always, thinking about the house. It was huge. My friend Deepti belongs to a wealthy family. "But it's all physical."
Ankush said. Those words took my attention.
"Shut up, you boys Never understand," Divya said.
I know ..I know they were talking about the rape of that 14-year girl. The whole world is talking about it.
"Oh please, Divya I understand. And I feel bad but she can still have a life. She can stand on her
feet. It's only physical dear. Time can heal her."
Those words made me think. Deep down something throbs. I found a
strange attraction towards the mirror I was walking towards it.
I saw my reflection
"he is right, it's all physical"
I know everyone staring at my back.
"Yes, it's all physical.
She can still live her life. a happy life!
But there is a problem. A problem with the mirror. Whenever she will notice herself in the mirror.
Instead of her reflection, she will find a soul with a thousand holes. Someone's hands on her body. fear in her eyes. And all she can do is self-pity. isn't it worse?"
I stopped. A teardrop crossed my cheeks. No one dares to utter a word. I let my eyes dry. And
directed towards the corner. Act as if nothing happened. Nothing happened at all.
