Lockdown Day 9

Dear Diary,

Today is the ninth day of the countrywide lockdown. Incidentally, today is also the ninth day of the bright phase of the moon and is being celebrated as Ram Navami in India. Hopefully, God Ram will listen to our prayers and will remove the current chaos from the world.

Scientists across the world are trying their best to find a vaccine for the current pandemic. The world was in a self dazzled state in the twenty-first century over the technological advancements. There was humongous development in the fields of computer science, artificial intelligence, and machine learning. We were overawed by the breathtaking improvements in technological strides. Man was on course to explore the other worlds beyond the solar system in search of alien life. But this sub-microscopic virus, visible only through electron microscope has forced us to revisit our developmental model.

The first world countries and the lone superpower of the world are totally helpless in Infront of this virus. Millions of people have been left in the lurch for want of their daily bread. Governments across the globe have forced lockdowns rendering an enormous chunk of manpower without work and without any means of livelihood.

These are the tough times with no clear indication of the light at the end of the tunnel yet. In these overwhelming times, resilience will power and faith in God and in ourselves will sail us through.
