Lockdown Day 2

Dear Diary,

Today is the second day of the country wide lockdown. Morning was a bit cloudy, but later the sun shone. A cuckoo was singing incessantly for some time. Many parrots were seen on the branches of the copper pod trees, now in full bloom. With hardly any human being outside and practically no traffic on the roads, the birds are finding the surroundings hospitable to have a good perch on the trees. The roads wear a deserted look with an eerie silence. Mumbai, which is full of life, lights and sounds even during the dead of night, seems to be another place now. All the restaurants servings delicacies, full of jovial people are closed for the time being. Only shops open are the chemist shops and the ration shops. There are queues outside these shops as people are allowed to enter one by one.

Hope life returns to normal at the earliest possible with the same sights and sounds which we had taken for granted for ages.
