Kuchela-Krishna's Friend

Kuchela was one of Krishna's closest childhood friend. Later Kuchela got married to poor Brahmin women and got many children. Their family was stuck in poverty and was struggling to provide food for their children. Kuchela was performing rituals at temple for their living.

One day as usual he finished his rituals and came home with little food, his wife asked him to meet his childhood friend Krishna for help. At that time Krishna was King of Dwaraka and was married to princess Rukmini. Kuchela was hesitated to ask his friends help but he has no option. Finally, he wished to go to Dwaraka. His wife gave some Poha for his friend.

Kuchela started walking with his stick and tied Poha in a cloth to it. He was remembering their childhood memories and felt happy. He reached Krishna's palace there the guards stopped him by looking at his attire. He looked very poor and dirty. Krishna looked down and asked guards to allow his friend.

Krishna was pleased to see his friend after long time. Krishna received Kuchela as a close guest. They offered him nice food and spoke about their childhood memories. Krishna asked what was inside the cloth tied to stick. Kuchela told he brought poha in the cloth. Krishna opened it and had some poha happily. Kuchela didn't tell his situation to Krishna. Now time came to say goodbye and left the palace with nice memories.

When Kuchela reached his home, he was astonished to see a palace in place of their small hut and his wife and children were dressed with nice clothes and jewelry. Kuchela thought this was Lord Krishna's grace and thanked his friend. Then they lived happily with the grace of Krishna. Their friendship was so great, so it is still spoken for ages.
