Ishani:- Well to be frank, I do believe a bit on divine sight.

Sanjana:- (after thinking for a while) Yes, I too do believe it but sometimes only.

Sameer:- (placing the cup on the table) Here you go Debrath.

Debrath:- (taking the cup of tea from Sam) Yes, Thank you so much.

Debrath:- (agreeing with Ishani) Yes, So you both said you both too belief in the divine sight at times.

(Ishani and Sanjana both agreed)

Ishani:- (thoughtfully ) But Mr. Debrath why are you asking this question?

Debrath:- Because it is the only mystery.

Sanjana:- (Surprisingly) What?

Debrath:- Yes, seriously trust me it is the main reason of my tension.

Ishani:- (after thinking for some time) Ok, but how comes it be the mystery?

Debrath :- (tensely)Because according to the divine sight my father Mr. Subhrotha Sen, will die exactly five days later from today.

(Ishani and Sanjana get shocked after hearing this.)

Both:- What?

Chapter 3: Mysterious History of Sen family

Debrath:- Yes trust me, and that’s why I am so tensed. If at all you can help, please save my father.

Ishani:- (offer a glass of water and asked Mr.Debrath to calm down) please calm down Mr. Sen, I will try my best to save your father, but it would be very helpful if you give me a brief information regarding this.

Debrath:- (nodded in the sign of agreement) Oh yes ! That is the reason why I came here.

Sanjana:- (giving hopes to Mr.Debrath) Mr. Debrath don’t worry, we will try our best.

Debrath:- I will be glad. So let me tell you the story of this divine sight.

Ishani:- (nodded) Yes, please.

Debrath:- Actually, I belong from a so called Zamindar family of the old days, we had one ancestral house at the Netaji Marg road. There I used to stay with my grandparents and parents. In that ancestral house we had a small temple house of goddess Kali, one priest use to do all the Puja related work. The name of that priest was Purohit Nabaron Mukherjee. It was believed that he had the power of divine sight. He could tell whole incidence even if he was not present at the place of incidence.

Sanjana:- (surprisingly) What is it really possible?

Debrath:- Even I too don’t known, but he had the power. When I was very young, after returning from school I went to the temple house and stood there near the pillar. There was only me and Purohit Nabaron in the temple. So watching me standing alone Purohit asked whether I was being scolded by my teacher for not submitting the homework. Listening to these I asked him how did he knew this so he replied he had divine sight, he got to know all the incidence even if he was not present there at the place. Hearing this I ran towards my grandfather Mr. Pratyush Sen and asked him about the divine sight so he said these all are blind faith, all these things never happens. Then my grandfather called the Purohit and scolded him.

Ishani:- (thoughtfully) Means it seems that your grandfather doesn’t have any kind of believe in these things, Right?

Debrath:- (Agreeing) Yes! He doesn’t believe on these things, but my grandmother Mrs. Sulochona Sen used to believe in these things so she went there and apologized. As I had said earlier that we were so called zamindars of that times, so the idol of goddess Kali had gold jewelries on her body but one fine day it was being stolen by someone. When on the next day we opened the door of the temple house, we discovered that the idol of goddess Kali was completely empty, there was not a single piece of jewelry on the idol. My grandfather asked everyone to search everywhere. But in vain we didn’t find anything. Two days gone but we didn’t have any clue of the whereabouts of the jewelry. Then my grandmother went to the temple house and showed her disappointment in front of the idol. At that time Purohit Nabaron asked my grandmother to search near the bank of the pond. Hearing this she asked my father to do the same, but as you know my grandfather didn’t believe the words and said he won’t send any people to search near the bank of the pond. So my grandmother decided that she will only send people for search and she did.

Ishani:- And there they found the jewelry right?

Debrath:- (agreeing) Yes! After this my grandfather became more angry and thought that the Purohit Nabaron had stolen the jewelry so he insulted him and asked him to leave the house at that very moment. Being insulted Purohit Nabaron got very angry and told my grandfather that he would have to believe on his divine sight one day and left the house. He used to stay in our house with his wife Mrs. Sucheta Mukherjee and son Mr. Kesav Mukherjee. So after Purohit Nabaron left the house his wife and son came running to my grandfather and asked where would they live? Hearing this, my grandmother asked them to stay with them forever.

Sanjana:- So after this was everything got settled?

Debrath:- (Continued) Yes! But only for some time. After a few months there came a letter to my grandfather, in which there were five dates were written. Those were none other than death dates written by Purohit Nabaron.

Ishani:- (surprisingly) What? The date of deaths!

Debrath:- Yes! The date of deaths. And according to those dates my grandfather died on 12th January 2006 due to heart attack and exactly after two moths means 12th March 2006 my grandmother died due nerve disorder. Actually, we had a plan of getting shifted from that ancestral house to a new house. So while shifting the things from there I had found the letter from my grandmother’s trunk (box). After getting the letter in my hand, I had just started to read it but reading a few lines my father snatched it from me and kept the letter with him and now when we ask him to give it to us he deny to give us. And according to the letter the next date of death is of my father till I read. Now my request to you is that please save my father from this so called divine sight.

Ishani:- (thoughtfully) Ohk don’t worry, we will try our best to help you and save your father.

(Sanjana’s phone rang and she noticed the time.)

Sanjana:- (tensely) Oh god Ishu we are late, Mom is calling.

Ishani:- (giggled) pick up the call dumbo.

(Sanjana answered the call)

Ishani:- Don’t worry Mr.Debrath we will try our best to save your father. I just had one last question, do your father too believe that he will going to die after five days?

Debrath:- (agreeing) Yes, he does.

Ishani:- OK well, if you don’t mind, I would like to visit your house that will help me to get some more clues.

Debrath:- Oh yes, why not you are most welcome.(took out a visiting card and gave it to Ishani) here you go, this is my address.

Ishani:- OK well, we will visit you tomorrow.

Debrath:- Ok, no problem well Ms. Ishani to be frank being the man of this generation I seriously don’t believe on this divine sight.

Ishani: (Smiling) Well, Aunty these house seriously describe that you all belongs from the zamindar family.

Aunt Sen: (Smiling and Nodding)Yes, that’s true.

Sanjana: (Thoughtfully) Well, Aunty Was your elder son having this nerve disorder from his childhood?

Aunt Sen: No, No, He was absolutely normal in his childhood.

Ishani: Then from when did he get into this diseases?

Aunt Sen: He was absolutely normal in his childhood, when he grew up and started to work in a company there we got to know about his diseases, actually everything was fine, but when he started getting much stress from his office at that time we found few abnormal symptoms in him and when we took him for a checkup, we got to know about his nervous disorder problem. It was not that chronic at that as well, but as soon as his grandmother died, he completely lost his nervous balance.

Ishani: Aunty will you please tell a bit more clearly that how had this happened? I mean why are you telling that everything went wrong after your mother- in- law’s death?

Mr. Sen: Well, Ms. Chaterjee let me tell you that thing that why my mother is saying like that. Actually, you know about that letter and accordingly my grandfather died as per the date written in that letter and that made my grandmother more afraid and had the believe that she will also die in the same date as mentioned in the letter and that was making all of us very tensed as on the night of my grandmother’s death she was behaving very weirdly, she was shutting each and every window each and every door and constantly saying that he will come, he will come to take me. At that time me and my elder brother was trying to convince my grandmother that nothing will happen to her. After sometime my elder brother asked me to leave the room so that I can take a rest as I had my office next day and he sat there beside my grandmother, then my brother tried to make my grandmother fall asleep and he tried his best to stay awake whole night, but after sometime he too fallen asleep, then in the next morning when he awake, he saw that our grandmother was no more and that gave him more shock which made him more sicker.

Sanjana: Oh that’s really very pathetic.

(Tanvi came into the room and informed everyone that the table is ready for lunch, hearing this they all went to the dining room, where Ishani ask for washbasin as she want to wash hands so Aunt Sen instructed their maid to take her to the washbasin, the maid took Ishani to the washbasin, meanwhile Sanjana sat for having the lunch.)

Ishani: ( asked polietly To the Maid) You have been working here for so many years right? What is your name?

Maid: Yes, I have been working here for many years and my name is Subhra.

Ishani: ( Poured some handwash in her hand and asked the maid) So you might be living in the old ancestral house earlier?

Subhra: Yes, I have been living there earlier, it just a year or two I came here.

Ishani: Oh, well do you know what had happened exactly on the night of Mr. Pratyush Sen’s death?

Subhra: Not properly, but yeas I may help you to give some information regarding the same, actually, in that house only I and Madhav kaka lived there after each and every family member shifted here in this city house, and I hope you got to know that Madhav Kaka is an addicted man, he used to take afeem every day, so on that night as well Madhav kaka was in his addicted state after having the afeem and after checking each and locks on the gate, I was about to lock the main gate at that time I saw Pratyush ji coming, I asked him that why he was there at near to midnight, he just replied me that somebody was coming to meet him and asked me to keep the main gate open and asked me to go inside my room and he will stay there for that night, hearing this I said ok and I went into my room, then I had fallen asleep and at midnight when I woke up to check whether Pratyush ji was there or not I heard him screaming Subhra Subhra, hearing this I came running outside and saw that Pratyush ji seems as if he was fallen senseless, so I tried to wake him up but in vain till then he was dead because of heart attack.

( Ishani washed her hands and went to the dining room, there she and Sanjana had their lunch and then they said its time to leave, while leaving she lent her number to Aunt Sen and said that she felt the family was still hiding something very important from them, so she asked her to call her and tell her if she have any problem to tell her face to face, then they bid bye to them and went back to their respective home, then Ishani tried to link the points which she got to know today and decided to Visit the Sen Villa next day and have a talk with Mr Subhrotha Sen, meanwhile in the evening her phone rang and it was Aunt Sen on the other side.)

Ishani: Hello, Yes, Aunty do you want to inform me something?

Aunt sen: Yes, dear I am really very sorry, actually, this is our very secret family matter that I have to disclose to you to save my husband, may be this information help you a bit.

Ishani: Yes, Aunt Sen please tell me, as each and every information you give me will work as a clue for me, so please tell me without hesitating and you can trust me I won’t reveal anything to anybody.

Aunt Sen: Thank you so much dear for giving me the assurance, actually, the thing is that My father- in- law wanted to land half of his property to Mr. Kesav Mukherjee and infact my husband is also in the plan of doing the same.

Ishani: And Do you know ,Why so Aunty?

Aunt Sen: No, dear I don’t know exactly, but it was their believe that if the property is the matter of death then let him have half of the property so that my two sons don’t face any problem.

Ishani: Ok, Aunty, This will help me a lot, well Aunty I will visit you all tomorrow again, as I have a few talk with uncle, but please don’t tell him before and please don’t worry.

( And the call get disconnected. Ishani then informed Sanjana about the same and asked her to be ready by 8:30 sharp.)

Chapter 7: What A White Crow?

(Next morning at sharp 8:30 Ishani picked Sanjana, from her house and on the way she explained Sanjana what she has to do for the day as they have only last two days left to save Uncle Sen from the so called assumption of divine sight. They reached the Sen villa by 9:00, where they met Aunt Sen.)

Ishani: Hello Aunty! Good morning, I hope Uncle Sen is in his room.

Aunty: Good morning dear, yes, he is in his room you may go and talk with him.

Ishani: Ok, Thank you so much Aunty I hope you didn’t informed him yesterday about the same.

Aunt Sen: Oh no, I didn’t you may go and talk with him, he is in his room only.

Ishani: Ok, thank you aunty, you may also go to your work we will go.

Sanjana: Ok, so Ishani what I have to do now tell me.

Ishani: Ok, so listen I will go and talk with Uncle Sen, meanwhile you go and talk with the gardener of the family Madhav Kaka, then while going home, we will go to Rahul’s café and link up the clues and decide the further move.

Sanjana: Ok, got it.

Ishani: All the best, try to get all the necessary information.

Sanjana: Yes, sure, ok you go now.

(Ishani went upstairs to meet Uncle Sen, and Sanjana searched for Madhav kaka.)

Ishani: Hello Uncle Sen, May I come in?

Uncle Sen: You here? Why have you come here?

Ishani: Uncle I have few things to tell you, if you permit.

Uncle Sen: I had told you earlier keep me out of these stuffs.

Ishani: Yes, uncle you had told me that I shouldn’t interrogate you, but you haven’t restricted me to tell you something did you?

Uncle Sen: Ok, come in and tell what you want to tell.

(Ishani gets into the room and closed the door.)

Uncle Sen: What happened? Why are you closing the door.

Ishani: Don’t panic Uncle, I am closing the door because whatever I am going to tell you that you might not want to let your family know.

Uncle Sen: Ok, tell me.

Ishani: Uncle I have been going through your diary, there I noticed that on 11th January 2006, you had written that my father has been dead, after that day you hadn’t written anything for next 14 days, that quite general you all were not in that state to perform all your routine work as per schedule, but the thing which was quite shocking is why you wrote those lines “ my father has been dead” on 11th January, whereas you got to know about his dead on 12th January at morning sharp 6:00 o’clock, so as per my assumptions you might know about your fathers dead from 11th January only, but you didn’t informed the same to your family since it was midnight at that time? Please correct me if I am wrong.

Uncle Sen: (angrily)What non-sense! How will I know that my father has been dead if I don’t get any call, moreover on that day I get into my home at midnight, I was playing Ludo with my friends near the tea stall.

Ishani: (thoughtfully) Ok, so you were busy here, but then why had you written those lines on 11th January, only? Then my next assumption, I might be wrong, please correct me if I am wrong, that you were busy in playing ludo with your friends, but when you saw your father going somewhere you followed him as you were aware of the fact that your father wasn’t well and something very worst happened there which insisted you to get back to home alone at the mid-night.

Uncle Sen: What are you saying like a non-sense?

Ishani: Ok, you mean to say this assumption is also wrong? No, uncle that won’t be possible any of this assumption has to be correct or else, I have to start from the scratch and that I can’t do because I don’t have enough time, that’s why Uncle I am telling you please cooperate and tell the truth this will save your family, you as well as your children as after your death your elder son is going to die as per the letter.

Uncle Sen: Ok, you were right! Both of your assumptions were right, actually I was aware of my father’s heath condition very well, I had asked him that I will go instead of him if he have something very urgent but he denied and went alone, hence I followed him and after going there whatever I had seen was very shocking.

Ishani: What had you seen Uncle please tell me.

Uncle Sen: I reached there a few minutes after my father reached, in our ancestral house we have one big mango tree outside our main gate, I was hiding there so that my father don’t able to see me, after a few minutes I had heard that somebody was coming as there were dry leaves spread all over on the road, when the person gets into the gate and went near the light I saw that it was Sucheta Kakima came to meet my father, many questions ran around my mind, then I tried to hear what they were discussing. When I heard the discussion, I just couldn’t hold myself there for more and I came running here while running my father might have noticed me, that’s why he had called me from back but I didn’t respond, then after coming back I started writing my diary and hence I wrote those lines “ my father has been dead”, then on the next day Subhra our maid had informed us that my father had been dead because of heart attack.

Ishani: Ok, got it, but Uncle what had you heard there that make you behave like this?

Uncle Sen: Sucheta Kakima was telling my father that her son Kesav has 50% right on the Sen property as he is also the son of my father, if my father doesn’t give any right to him, then Kakima will spill all her misdeeds to the family members and this thing shocked me and I reacted like that.

Ishani: Ok and this lead you to think that if you give 50% of the property to Kesav then your son will be saved?

Uncle Sen: Yes, exactly.

Ishani: But Uncle do you know Where is Kesav and is he still alive or not?

Uncle Sen: No that I don’t know but if someday he will come then at-least he will know that I had kept my father’s promise.

Ishani: Ok, Uncle do you have any photo of him so that we can trace he?

Uncle Sen: Since it has been ages, they left our house so I have one teenage photo of him.

Ishani: Ok, that will also go will you please give me that?

Uncle Sen: Yes, sure.

( Uncle Sen brought one photo and handed it to Ishani.)

Ishani: Thank you Uncle, I will try my best to save your family I promise.

(Ishani left the room, while she was going downstairs she bumped with Mr. Samyak Sen.)

Samayak: You won’t able to catch him, I had seen him, it’s a curse.

Ishani: Whom I wouldn’t able to catch?

Samayak: you won’t able to catch him, I had seen two hands coming nearer and nearer, you won’t able to catch him, it’s a curse.

Ishani: Mr. Samayak, will you please tell me whose hands were coming nearer? Whom I won’t able to catch?

Samayak: Go, go, you won’t.

(Samayak left and Ishani stood there lost in her thoughts, meanwhile Sanjana came and told that she had her work done, now both of them informed the family and left the Sen villa and went to the café shop.)

Ishani: What would you like to have Sanjana?

Sanjana: (Called the waiter Loudly) Waiter, come here please bring two cup of coffee one dark and one cold coffee.

Ishani: Ok, it seems you had collected something very interesting.

Sanjana: Yes, very interesting, you know what that Madhav Kaka was brought by Mr. Sen’s grandfather in their ancestral house.

Ishani: Oh! How come?

Sanjana: Actually this Madhav Kaka is an addicted person, he takes afeem every day, so one day he was being terminated from the work, where he have been working for so long all because of his addiction, so he was walking on the road like every addicted person walk, after having the afeem and from the other side Mr. Sen’s grandfather was coming driving his car and suddenly this man got hit by his car making Madhav Kaka unconscious. Mr. Sen’s grandfather then took him in his house and treated him then when he got consciousness he got scolded by Mr. Sen’s grandfather and told him to work as a gardener in their house.

Ishani: Oh, great you collected the clue pretty well.

Sanjana: (thoughtfully)Well, one more thing happened while I was coming downstairs.

Ishani: What had happened?

Sanjana: Remember Tapur?

Ishani: Yes, Mr. Sen’s daughter

Sanjana: Yes, exactly, she was asking me did I saw her white crow?

Ishani: (Shockingly) What? A white crow!

Sanjana: Yes, a white crow.

Ishani: (thoughtfully) I had never seen any white crow, from where did she saw a white crow?

Sanjana: Exactly that’s what I also thinking, leave it tell me one thing what did you gathered from Mr. Sen’s father?

(Ishani showed her the photo which she had brought from Mr. Sen’s father and told her each and every information which she got to know from him, while they were discussing about the same their friend Rahul came to meet them, he asked about their progress in the case and whether there is anything in which he can help. Ishani narrated the same story to Rahul as well and asked him to contact one of his police inspector friend Mr. Tayde so to help them in searching Kesav Mukherjee, hearing this Rahul immediately called Mr. Tayde and informed the same. Mr. Tayde reached within half an hour, Rahul makes him met with Ishani and Sanjana and offered him coffee, then Ishani narrated the complete case and the clues collected by her to Mr. Tayde.)

Mr. Tayde: Ok, Ms. Chaterjee, so what do you want me to do?

Ishani: Sir, you just have to help me in searching Kesav Mukerjee, ( Showing him the photo) this is the photo of Kesav, when he was of around 13 or 14 yrs. Can we search him based on this photo by tomorrow? If yes then well and good and if no then we have one alternate plan.

Mr. Tayde: Well, it will be difficult to search a person using this photo in such short period of time, but what is your another plan?

Sanjana: Sir, then we will have to advertise that Mr. Subhrota Sen is going to give 50% share of his property to Mr. Kesav Mukherje, whoever is Kesav Mukherjee please come and visit the Sen Villa tomorrow morning at sharp 9:00 A.m. with proper identity proof. What say? How will be this?

Mr. Tayde: Great this is a great plan, I will ask the editors of all the newspapers to publish the same don’t worry, you just inform about the same to Mr. Sen.

Ishani: Sure sir we will, thank you so much sir for your support.

Mr. Tayde: No, no, Ms. Chaterjee, this is my duty, in case you need any help there then I can also come there.

Sanjana: Well, sir we might not need your help tomorrow morning, but day after tomorrow or might be tomorrow night we may need your help.

Mr. Tayde: Ok, done I will be there.

Ishani: Ok, Thank you so much Sir.

(Sanjana called Mr. Sen and informed about the advertisement and told him that they will be there by 9:00 a.m., then Ishani and Sanjana left the café and went to their respective home.)

Chapter 8: The Last Move:

(The next morning as decided Ishani and Sanjana reached the Sen Villa by 9:00 a.m. sharp, there they saw a long queue of people name Kesav Mukherjee were waiting, one by one they were going inside and showing up their identity proof and answering few question but no one of them were answering the thing which they one to hear, finally one last candidate was there waiting for his turn when asked to him he replied the thing which they want to hear then they verified his identity proof and asked him to visit tomorrow.)

Uncle Sen: Why did you asked him to come tomorrow dear? Who knows whether I will be alive or dead?

Sanjana: Uncle please don’t panic you will have to live for many more years.

Uncle Sen: But how can you be so sure, you all also didn’t able to catch the culprit yet and what if it is really predicted by divine sight that I will die by tomorrow.

Ishani: Uncle if don’t mind we want to talk with you privately.

Uncle Sen: Sure dear come with me in my room, there you can tell me whatever you want.

(Ishani and Sanjana followed Uncle Sen to his room, there they sat on the chair and discussed about something with which Uncle Sen seems to be agreeing, then after sometime Ishani and Sanjana left the room and were searching for Tapur, meanwhile they bumped with Mrs. Sen.)

Ishani: Ahh, Tanvi did you saw Tapur anywhere? Actually I want to ask her one thing.

Tanvi: Yes, she is in her room come with me I will take you.

Ishani: Ok, Sure.

(Ishani and Sanjana followed Mrs. Sen to Tapur’s room, then Mrs. Sen left the room.)

Tapur: Very bad, Mashi you didn’t knocked the door before entering the room.

Ishani: Oh Yes, That’s very bad of us, we should have knocked the door know Sanjana, We are very Sorry dear.

Tapur: It’s ok.

Sanjana: Well, Tapur where is your Uncle?

Tapur: Why you want to know where is he?

Ishani: Dear, actually we want to know whether he had seen a white crow or not?

Tapur: No, he didn’t, only I can see the white crow, nobody else can see it.

Ishani: Oh, but I have to know whether he had seen it or not.

Tapur: Uncle is upstairs, on the terrace, but he didn’t saw a white crow because only I can see it.

(Tapur ran away from there saying this, meanwhile Ishani and Sanjana went upstairs on terrace.)

Ishani: Mr. Samayak, will you please tell us whose hands had you seen at that night?

Samayak: Go, Go, you won’t able to catch him, I can , go, go.

Sanjana: Ok, Ok , Mr. Samayak just tell us whose hands were those?

Samayak: It’s a curse, no, you won’t able to catch him, I won’t sleep tonight, I won’t sleep.

Ishani: You don’t want to sleep Mr. Samayak? You want to catch the culprit? I will bring you one medicine which won’t let you fall asleep.

Samayak: No, you are lying go, go, I won’t sleep tonight.

Ishani: No, I am not, trust me I will bring you that medicine.

Samayak: Ok.

(Ishani and Sanjana left from there and came downstairs.)

Ishani: (called loudly after looking Mr. Sen passing from there) Mr. Sen, please wait for a moment we need to inform you something.

Mr. Sen: Yes, Ms. Chaterjee What help may I do for you?

(Ishani and Sanjana explained their execution plan to Mr. Sen to which he also seems to agree, then after sometime the left the Sen villa quoting that they will visit again at night. At night as told by Ishani and Sanjana they reached in the Sen Villa, but looking at the deteriorating health condition of Mr. Sen’s Father none of the Family member wants them to stay there except Mr. Sen and his father as rest other loses their hope and believe in them. Ishani and Sanjana pleaded to them so that they can stay there but nobody agreed they also tried to give the sleeping pills to Mr. Samayak, but that also they didn’t allowed, hence both of them informed Mr. Sen to take care of Mr. Samayak and both of them left the Sen villa and waited outside on the road a bit far away from the house so that whenever any of the family member call them they can reach there as early as possible. Then suddenly after a hour or so Mr. Sen called Ishani and informed that his father is ok but Mr. Samayak is no more, hearing this they rushed to the Sen villa. )

Mr. Sen: Ms. Chaterjee, look what had happened, my father is alright but elder brother is no more.

Ishani: For this reason only I was saying please allow us to be here, but you all didn’t allowed us.

Sanjana: What can we do now Mr. Sen we had told you to take care of your brother before leaving as well, Ishani had assumed that this kind of thing might happen as your brother was having nervous disorder and after your grandmother’s dead he was not in that state that he could handle one more shock, hence Ishani had brought sleeping pills with her so that atleast for today he can sleep peacefully so that nothing can harm him, but then you all didn’t believed on us.

Aunt Roy: We are very sorry dear, we seriously feel now that it would had been better if we had trusted you at that time, we are very sorry.

Ishani: Uncle, will you please tell me how this happened?

Uncle Sen: ( tears in his eyes) As instructed by you, as soon as everybody left the room, I went down the bed by placing the pillows in the disguise and waiting for the person to come, I was feeling a bit drowsy, but still I kept my eyes open so that I can grab the culprit, after a few moment I saw someone coming in my room, I observed carefully that who was it, then I saw he was none other than my elder son, I thought he might came here to check whether everything is ok or not and then he might leave, but he didn’t so I thought of informing him, but then second thought ran around my mind that how did he entered in my room as Debrath was sitting outside my room, then I thought he might had entered from the window which is exactly at the opposite direction of the front door, hence I decided to come out and inform him, but by the time I got out everything was over the fan fell down on his head and he died, then I screamed loudly so that everyone come and take him to the hospital but it was too late.

Sanjana: ( Consoling) Uncle, don’t cry please, thing which has to be happen had happened, now we can’t get back the thing which we had lost, we can’t do anything uncle other than accepting the truth.

Ishani: Mr. Sen today we are leaving we will visit here tomorrow as you all are not in that mindset to talk or listen anything, so we will come tomorrow, please try to be normal, hope his soul rest in peace.

Mr. Sen: Ok, as you say.

Sanjana: Tomorrow please we want that each and every member of the family stay present there when we will be discussing the matter, be it your family members or be it maid or servant of your house.

Mr. Sen: Ok, as you say we all will stay present there.

(Ishani and Sanjana left the Sen Villa and went to their respective home.)

Chapter 9: Culprit in disguise

(Ishani called Mr. Sen and asked him to call the advocate as, she wanted that, the will papers of property shares should have to be signed by that day only, Mr. Sen initially sounded somewhat shocked then he agreed to follow her instructions, Ishani and Sanjana left their house and reached the Sen Villa, there everyone was waiting for them in the drawing room, whereas they both went to meet Tapur.)

Ishani: Tapur, don’t cry dear your uncle will always there with you and he will be watching from there.(pointing towards the sky.)

Tapur: But Masi, he won’t come back again?

Sanjana: No dear, he is with you, whenever you will miss him, just look at the sky and search the star which resemble your uncle.

Tapur: But who took him there in the sky?

Ishani: May be the white crow Tapur.

Tapur: Oh, that’s why I didn’t abled to find him anywhere in the room, from yesterday.

Ishani: Oh, it is not in the room? But Tapur can you tell me in which room did the white crow lived?

Tapur: That room which used to stay locked always.

Ishani: Oh, the crow yet didn’t came back?

Tapur: No, Masi should I go and ask it to bring my uncle back?

Sanjana: Yes, dear you go, and ask it to bring your uncle back.

Tapur: (about to go) No, You both are liers, the crow wasn’t living it was non-living, how can it take away my uncle, you are lying.

Ishani: Ok, Tapur listen dear, look what I am showing you (taking out a craft made up of newspaper) was your white crow looks like this?

Tapur: Yes, exactly Masi, it looked like this only.

Sanjana: Ok, dear go to your room.

(meanwhile in the room everyone was waiting for Ishani and Sanjana, before their arrival the fake Kesav Mukherjee arrived there and the family members got angry after having a glance of him as they had been told by Ishani that Mr. Samayak had been killed by Kesav Mukherjee, but they didn’t aware of the fact that he was acting for the same as he was being instructed to do the same by Sanjana, in the meantime Ishani and Sanjana reached there.)

Mr. Sen: Ms. Chaterjee, what has been he doing here? Why didn’t you asked inspector to put him behind the bars?

Ishani: Mr. Sen please have patience, he is not the culprit.

Aunt Roy: What? What do you mean? Before a few minute you told that Kesav is the culprit over the call and now you are saying he is not! What do you want to say? Please make it clear.

Sanjana: Yes Aunty she had told you that Kesav is the culprit which is 100% true but he is not as he not Kesav, he had been appointed by me to act infront of you all saying he is Kesav, but he is not, he is a stage actor Shantanu Bhaduri.

Aunt Sen: What? But why is the need of this much acting.

Ishani: It was necessary aunty, if each and every act planned by me would had worked properly then we couldn’t loosed Mr. Samayak, but nevertheless atleast he had proved that there is no such thing called divine sight.

Mr. Sen: But Ms. Chaterjee will you pl tell me, if he isn’t Kesav then where is Kesav Mukherjee?

Ishani: Yes, ofcourse, but for that I have to start with the history of the family, so I apologize to you uncle as I have to enclose the most secret history of you family to all, as I have no other option.

Aunt Roy: (shockingly) Secret History!

Ishani: Yes, secret history, on 11th January 2006, your father Mr. Pratyush Sen, died because of heart attack after seeing you there behind the tree, and you got the news on 12th of January 2006, your father went in the ancestral house to meet Mrs. Sucheta Mukherjee, where she gave threat to your father that if he didn’t gave his 50% share of property to Kesav then she will tell his misdeed to the whole family and she told him this because Mr. Kesav Mukherjee was his illegitimate child.

Mr. Sen: (shockingly )What? An illegitimate child!

Ishani: Yes, and hearing this uncle didn’t able to bear the truth and decided to leave the place, while he was leaving due to the dry leaves spread all over the ground, Mr. Pratyush Sen heard someone passing from there and when he noticed Uncle Sen, walking away from there, he called from back Subhro, Subhro, which was being heard and misunderstood by you maid Subhra, next morning when she noticed Mr. Pratyush Sen lying unconscious near the main gate she immediately called Uncle Sen and Uncle Sen immediately left for the place.

Mr. Sen: But then there wasn’t Kesav !

Sanjana: Kesav was there only over that night.

Ishani: Yes, he was there, then after few months, I mean exactly a week a go before your grandmother’s death, Sucheta Mukherjee again visited you place and gave the same warning to your grandmother as well, by the mean time your grandmother got to know all the misdeeds of his husband, but your grandmother didn’t paid attention to the warning, on the day of her death when your elder brother fallen asleep because of tiredness, a person might had came to your grandmother’s room, and if I am not that very wrong he might had showed his actual face to your grandmother and asked her to sign the property paper to which she didn’t agreed and tore those papers, and that evoke the person who was there in that room and he frightened your grandmother in such a way due to which she died because of nervous disorder.

Tanvi: But Ishani dii, all these are your presumption, do you have any proof?

Ishani: Wait, My dear, wait there are lots of thing to be unfolded, so have patience. (move towards Madhav chacha ) well on the day of you grandmother’s death Mrs. Sucheta Mukherjee warned her by saying “ the one which is written by lord Krishna, will happen to you somehow”, well chacha Krishna’s another name is Kesav right?

Madhav: Yes, but what is the relation of that with this case?

Ishani: There is chacha, and another name of Kesav is Madhav right? ( with a loud tone in her voice ) you are only the Kesav Mukherjee.

Madhav: What non-senses, (ran toward Uncle Sen ) your majesty look what they are telling!

Sanjana: Stop this stupid acting chacha!

Aunt Sen: But don’t you both have any misunderstanding? I mean just look at him he is an old man how can he kill anyone.

Sanjana: That is only the misunderstanding aunty, you all were being fooled by this man for so many year.

Mr. Sen: But how can it be possible? I mean will you please make it more clear Ms. Nair?

Sanjana: Yes, ofcourse, just look at his nail, what did you observed?

Mr. Sen: What? His nails are clean.

Sanjana: Exactly, his nails are clean, that’s how he fooled you all, just think on the matter, that the person who is so much addicted of afeem, how can his nails be so clean?

Mr. Sen: Oh I see.

(Madhav Chacha tried to run, meanwhile Mr. Tayde grab him and placed the handcuffs on his hands.)

Madhav: They are lying trust me, they are lying.

Aunt Sen: Dear are you sure he is only Kesav Mukherjee?

Sanjana: Yes aunty!

Aunt Sen: No, I mean he is such an old man.

Sanjana: Exactly that’s the strange know aunty, infact I also thought the same thing for him but when I went to have a talk with him that, I noticed he was peeling off the skin of dry coconuts, and for peeling the dry coconut skin, requires lots of energy, which is near to impossible for such an old man, but he was doing it with a great easiness, that made me doubt on him.

Madhav: What non-sense, they are lying, all these are fake proves.

Ishani: Shut-up Chacha! Now show up you actual face to all, will you going to show it or should I show it to all?

Sanjana: He won’t be showing it dear we only have to unmask him.(pulled off the wig, and the false beard and moustache of an old man.) have a look, all of you.

(All of them stand still for a moment in shock.)

Chapter 10: It’s a murder not the holy vision!

Ishani: Well, Aunty tell me one thing how much do you assume Kesav’s age to be? 45

Aunt Sen: Yes, around 45.

Ishani: Look at him don’t he look like he is of 45?

Mr. Tayde: Oh! Now he is 45 from 80.

Aunt Roy: Oh my god, we were being fooled for so many years brother.

Uncle Sen: But how did you knew that he was only Kesav Mukherjee?

Ishani: Before that tell me one thing Uncle does he works here by the name of Madhav Sen?

Uncle Sen: No, Madhav Mitra

Ishani: Exactly, Actually Uncle while Sanjana was talking with him, he mistakenly said that he was Madhav Sen, while in your dairy where you wrote the monthly salary of all you had written his name Madhav Mitra, that proved he was none other than Kesav Mukherjee, because he had told himself that he was a son of Mukherjee family hence his surname is Mukherjee.

Madhav: She is lying, she is lying, why would I be Mukherjee?

Mr. Tayde: Shut-up, you are not allowed to speak anything.

Mr. Sen: But Ms. Chaterjee, how is he related with my grandmother’s death, I mean my grandmother wouldn’t had seen him!

Ishani: Wait Mr. Sen, I am coming to that point, actually, on that night after your brother had fallen asleep, Kesav knocked the door, and hearing this Mrs. Sulochana Sen opened the door, she was pretty happy seeing that one more person was awake for saving her, but when he entered in the room he showed off his real face to her and forced her to sign the will papers, but in vain she got the heart attack because of shock moreover she was a nerve patience so she couldn’t abled to handle the shock, and the determination of proving that this was a murder had irritated Mr. Samayak for whole life, the determination of proving that he had seen two hands coming be it in his dreams or in reality had irritated him whole life.

Madhav: I won’t spare anyone, I won’t, I will kill everyone.

Sanjana: Keep quite Kesav Mukherjee!

Madhav: I am not Kesav Mukherjee, I am Kesav Sen, I am the son of Pratyush Sen, nobody accepted me, their mother Sulochana Sen had insulted me, I won’t spare anyone, why should I leave my rights? I am the son of this family, I had worked like a servant in my own house, they had enjoyed all comforts, why would I leave my rights? I won’t spare anyone, I won’t spare you both as well.

Mr. Tayde: Think of this afterward, I won’t allow you to come out of the bars only.

Ishani: Yes, Mr. Tayde, he don’t deserve a normal life he should be kept behind the bars, please take him from here. (move toward Kesav) did you ever thought your plan had taken the life of an innocent person Mr. Samayak.

(While taking him the handkey falls from his pocket which he used for covering the camera.)

Ishani: Oh! This is that handkey which you had used for covering up my camera right?

Mr. Sen: What there was a camera in my father’s room?

Ishani: Yes, there were two cameras in your father’s room, one of mine and another of this man Kesav.

Mr. Sen: Oh! God, and we didn’t knew that even.

Ishani: Naturally, afterall he had misused the faith you all have on him, he had kept the camera from the very first day he came here, he use to check each and every moment of Uncle Sen every day, in evening he used to check the recordings every day, but yesterday he didn’t got the time to do so, but then when we all gathered here in search of real Kesav, he got the time to check his camera, at that time he noticed that my camera was there in the room but it was off, so he placed the camera there itself, then in evening when Uncle Sen acted as if he was falling sick, I switched on the camera, then when Aunt Roy took Uncle Sen out of the room for some time, at that someone came and place one cloth on my camera, but unfortunately while removing the cloth, this border line of the handkey got captures in my camera, I believe that within that time only Mr. Kesav Mukherjee loosen the screw of the fan so that the incident seems to occur like an natural accident, but in vain Mr. Kesav, your camera can only capture the movement not the audio, so you didn’t knew what I had instructed to Uncle Sen.

Sanjana: Mr. Tayde, please take him from here now itself.

(While the constable with Mr. Tayde, taking him to the police van they got bumped with little Tapur.)

Tapur: Madhav Granpa, where are you going? Why are you going? Where are your white hairs? Where are your bread and moustache?

(In room everybody was in shocking state hearing the whole history of the case.)

Shantanu: Ok , Ms. Chaterjee and Ms. Nair, I should leave now.

Ishani: Yes, Thank you very much for helping us in this case.

Uncle Sen: Yes, Thank you, but I have only one request.

Shantanu: Don’t worry Sir, what ever happed here and your family will remain in this room only, nobody will able to get to know about this from me, I promise you that.

Uncle Sen: Thank you very much.

(Shantanu left the house, Tapur came running into the room.)

Tapur: Mumma, Mumma, where is Madhav Grandpa going? Now who will play with me? Who will show me the white crow?

Ishani: There wasn’t any white crow dear, it was just an imaginary thing.

Mr. Sen: One second Ms. Chaterjee, a white crow! What does that mean?

Ishani: Actually she had seen this wig one day in Kesav’s room, when he might be applying color to this wig, seeing Tapur there, he might had placed the wig in a packet and on asking by Tapur he might had said that it is a white crow.

Mr. Sen: Oh God! What a dangerous man!

Tanvi: But Ishani dii, while that time Tapur might had seen his black hairs.

Ishani: Yes Might be, Tapur did you noticed black hairs on your Madhav Grandpa’s head that day?

Tapur: No, he was wearing one cloth on his head that time.

Mr. Sen: Oh! God, such a disgusting man.

Sanjana: Ok, Mr. Sen, We should leave now, I hope and pray that now you and all your family members live happily and peacefully.

Ishani: Yes, all our good wishes are there with you all always.

Uncle Sen: Yes, dear thank you so much for saving us.

Ishani: No, Uncle we aren’t completely successful, if we could have save Mr. Samayak, then it would had been a great day for you all today.

Mr. Sen: Nevertheless, he had sacrificed his life to prove what he wanted, anyways please do inform me whenever you all need any help, I will be glad to help you both.

(Ishani and Sanjana left the Sen Villa, and went to the café of their friend where they narrated the whole story to their friend, then they planned how they would spend the rest 10 days of their vacation, and the story ends on the happy notes.)
