Meeta and I had an arranged marriage, which was solemnized entirely in a traditional way. Astrologers matched our horoscopes and suggested auspicious time for the wedding. We followed their advice in all rituals and performed them on the auspicious Muhurtas. But shortly after marriage, we started having some differences. Some differences were natural as we had lived in different cities, and our upbringing was different.

Soon we started quarreling over trivial matters. We found each other irritating. Before marriage, I never expected or even imagined that I would be fighting with my wife. I always associated marriage with love. But my married life tuned opposite, in which there were only claims of rights and demands, and no love.

Luckily, after four years of marriage, a daughter was born to us. Our life became somewhat better. However, occasional fights continued. In fighting, we both would try to hurt each other by using insulting words and bringing forward old unnecessary matters. I started feeling violent too. There were no serious issues between us.

I loved my daughter very much. One day I thought about our relationship and fighting. I questioned myself, whom am I hurting while fighting with my wife? The answer I got, my daughter's Mother. Will my daughter be happy if I shouted at her Mother? Obviously NO. This thought changed my attitude toward my wife. I reduced my ego, stopped quarreling with her. If ever she started a quarrel, I kept calm. Hence now there was no adding of fuel to the fire. Sooner than later, my wife also stopped quarreling, and finally, we became a happy and loving family.
