Gratefully Right
Gratefully Right
The chirping sounds of sparrows my every day visitor was so very different today. I just woke up from the bed to realize that I forgot to set my alarm clock. So, I am late already for the day. With very limited left to kick start my day, I rushed to washroom to find my younger sibling Ganesh has already occupied it. "What a tough day, I just wish I could go back to yesterday and set all things right", having this thought in my mind and finally managed to rush to my parents' room. I was lucky this time as I am going to get ready now. Meanwhile I could smell the aroma of flavors from the sambar, and I guessed the breakfast is Idly with sambhar and chutney. What more can I ask for on this wonderful day. Well, the time ticked 8:00 on the and my mother Hema said breakfast is ready.
All of us at the home rushed to the dining table and enjoyed the most therapeutic breakfast. My Father, Balu just wished me good luck. As today was my first day of work. So, at 8:30 I left for work. Being a graphic designer, my profession always demanded creativity. Hence, I would sometimes incorporate real life references into my designs to make my designs look more creative. For instance, my design that helped me get this job was based on the fight between me and my brother but expressed in a illustration while portraying the two siblings look like marvel superheroes.
As I stepped into my new office, I had all the fears any fresher would have on their first day of first job. Though everyone welcomed me with a warm smile, I still could not surpass the newbie feel. A very big office, and my work desk was just near the window. I managed the first half of the day and still tried to have multiple questions in my mind that if I should continue in this job or do something else in my life. For a 24-year-old girl, this question would always come in me. However, the time was around 4:00 and I heard the same chirping sound, I looked at the window near my desk. It was the same bird that I would watch everyday morning near the window at my bedroom. When it flew away, "I just realized that the precious thing I possess is what I have already, and I need not worry for anything. Yes, very true sometimes we forget to observe that the most important things in our would always be with us, but our ignorance would have made us suffer. Instead of constantly searching for happiness, success elsewhere one must appreciate what they have." Having this thought run in my mind I decided to start back on my work. As gratitude is the great way of expressing one's success, I completed my first day of work by doing a creative illustration expressing my thoughts on gratitude. Once I emailed the design to manager, I received a call from him, and he started praising my skill and mentioned that hiring me was their best decision of the month. So, feeling grateful I returned back home.
So, I now know that what happens in my life is just the consequence of actions that I do. There is no need to rewind or travel back in time to set things right.
