Sitting on the bus stop I was wondering why she spoke like this.

Six Years back......

It was my college days. I was pursuing my B.Sc. We came more close in our first year college excursion. She was very friendly, caring, funny and a girl who could conquer the heart of anyone. She was stunning and her voice was heart-melting. Her charming and her cute smile always left happiness on my face. So how could I prevent my heart from being stolen?

We were both intimate friends. We couldn't become friends for many days. Love always triumphs over friendship. What would be better than spending your whole life with your best friend as a couple.

I proposed to her and she accepted my love. It was the second-best day of my life. The first one was when we met for the first time.

We were chatting together and sitting together for long hours. We talked by phone all night untill she forgot to cut the call and fell asleep. Everyday seemed beautiful with her. We were very much happy and were blessed.

But every coin has opposite side and after every day, a night comes. My life also went through them. She bound me with her promises and left me with suspense for lifetime. "Forget me !"

But why did she forget me? I don't know.

2nd July, 2013.

It was our second year in college. That day was her last day in college. She was leaving her studies mid-way. Like everyday we went to that mango tree under which we sat for hours. We sat under its shade. And like everyday she gave me chocolate and said, "It's your last chocolate." It was irony. Her eyes were full of tears and mine also. I wiped away her tears. She held my hand tightly as she didn't want to say goodbye.

Then that unexpected happened. She gave me her promise to ask nothing about her decision. Her tongue stammered and her eyes tried to hide something that I could read.

"Forget me", She said.

A bus halts at the bus stop. It breaks my memories. I come back from the days gone by.

I hear her name after six years. A girl calls, "Poonam, Poonam." I look at the bus. I can't believe my eyes.
