She Is In My Dreams

She Is In My Dreams

The dream is the fulfilment of a wish. It says, "If wishes were horses, then beggars would ride them." I think that's why God created dreams to fulfil our suppressed wishes. Isn't it?

Everybody dreams. Even blind people also dream. We dream a lot. We can have four to seven dreams in one night. If you think you are not dreaming, you just have forgotten your dreams. You already forget half of your dreams within five minutes when you wake up. And within 10 minutes you forget 95 to 99 Percent of your dream. It's just liked the Lifebuoy soap that kills 99.9% of the germs of your hand. But still, 0.1% remains where the dream of your boyfriend, girlfriend or someone special exists like Coronavirus. Sometimes we need sanitiser to kill some infectious dreams.

So, what was the last dream you saw? Can you remember it?

" Aye Bunty, tera saloon slow Hai Kya?"...

Hahahahaha.....

Hiiiiiiiiii.......I am Aditi. Aditi Srivastav. I am doing MS in Psychology at Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi.

You may have forgotten your dreams, but Nikhil has not forgotten his dream. A dream that breaks his sleep in every early morning. And this is the only memory he has remembered. He is suffering from a nightmare disorder.

I met him for the first time in our college campus but got to know about him due to professor Dr. J. R. Samantaray.

Professor enters the class. Everyone greets, " Good morning, sir."

Professor Samantaray greets back with a smiling face, " Morning, morning."

" So, students, today's class is about oneirology. The scientific study of dreams. Before it, I have exciting homework for you. You all know that we forget almost all dreams soon after waking up. So, you have to remember them. "

" But how, sir? we forget almost 90% of our dreams within 5 minutes of walking.”, asks Aditi.

Dr Samantaray smiles and replies, " That's your homework. By the way, it's not homework until you forget to do it. "

" From tomorrow up to 30 days you all will keep a small diary near you before sleeping. And as soon as you wake up in the morning, immediately write the dreams that you have seen in your sleep."

Some days later...

Aditi is sitting alone on the bench inside the college campus. She thinks about something and seems a little sad. A stranger comes and sits near to her. A tall, young and handsome boy.

"Wow, what a statue! ", the stranger says.

Aditi looks at her astonishingly.

He starts talking with the statue.

" You are beautiful. Your bedazzling eyes and lovely face steal my eyes. But I am sorry. The girl sitting near me will look cuter than you, if she smiles."

Aditi laughs a little and says, " statues don't talk. "

" No, they talk, if you want to listen.", he says.

" Jokes apart. Let it. Hi, I am Nikhil ", he gives his hand.

She handshakes, " I am Aditi."

Then Nikhil shows her a visiting card and asks about it.

Aditi reads the card, " Dr. Jyoti Ranjan Samantaray, psychiatrist."

" I know him. He is our professor.”, She replies.

" Where can I find him now? “, he asks.

" Go straight and take right. Then you will find his office.”, she says.

Nikhil thanks her with a little smile and goes.

Thirty days later......(Inside the classroom)

Everyone has their diary on the desk in which they have written their dreams. They discuss with one another about their dreams. Aditi is sitting quiet and busy in reading her dreams. She has doubts and a plenty of questions in her mind.

Meanwhile professor asks, " It has been 30 days and I think you all have completed your homework. Has anybody some doubts? You can ask. "

All question about their dreams. A long debate goes on. Professor teaches how to control over dreams.

Meanwhile Aditi stands up and asks, " Sir I saw a reoccurring dream. I saw it 5 times during the whole month. A little girl sat on her mother's lap. She was smiling. Her father drove the car. Then suddenly a truck hit the car and I woke up. "

" Sir I can remember their faces, but I don't know them in real life. Why do they often come in my dreams?"

"Your likely only dream about faces you’ve already seen “, professor says.

" It means I know them.”, asks Aditi.

" Yes, you know them. But you have forgotten. Our mind is not inventing faces. In our dreams, we see real faces of real people that we have seen during our life but may not know or remember. “, professor replies.

The class overs. Aditi goes with professor towards his office. Aditi asks him about her dream.

" Someone is waiting for me in the office. I will introduce you with him. He is my patient. Some years ago, he had lost his memory in a car accident. “, professor says.

" But why are introducing me with him “, she asks surprisingly.

" Because he is suffering from nightmare disorder like you. " he replies.

" What! Wait. I am suffering from nightmare disorder! “, Aditi ask surprisingly.

" Yes, but the difference is you are in the first stage and he is in the last stage. “, Professor says.

" Remember one thing, you will not ask him about his past. “, he warns.

" But why? “, she asks.

" Because we live in present. “, he replies.

Meanwhile they enter professor's office.

" Meet him. He is Nikhil. And Nikhil, she is Aditi. " professor introduces her with Nikhil.

Aditi and Nikhil look at each other and smile.

Nikhil says, " we have met before."

Aditi and Nikhil look into each other’s eyes and smile.

Professor breaks their attention and says," Aditi, come with me."

Aditi follows him. Professor draws a diary from his book shelf and gives it to her.

"What is this? “, asks Aditi.

" The answer of your dream.”, professor replies.

Aditi keeps it in her bag. They come back to Nikhil.

" Ok, Nikhil I am going to Australia from tomorrow evening for a research work and will return after 10 days. Till then you can consult with Aditi if you want. Aditi will help you. “, Professor says.

Then Aditi and Nikhil come out of the office. They walk together towards Nikhil's car.

" So, you are not a student.”, asks Aditi.

"Hahaha.... No. I come to professor for treatment. Actually, I am suffering from nightmare disorder. “, Says Nikhil.

" Then you can help me. “, she says.

They both laugh.

"Life is nothing but a dream.”, says Aditi.

" Yes, it often breaks. “, replies Nikhil. (sighs)

" But still we dream. Still we live.”, she says.

" Yeah, life always finds a way to live. “, he replies.

They reach at Nikhil's car. Nikhil asks Aditi to drop her at home. Aditi says, yes. They smile at each other and sit in the car. The car starts to run.

I sit in my hanging swing chair on balcony like every day to enjoy the sunset. When the sun sets, I leave whatever I do and watch it till its last glint.

The sun dips behind the candy clouds and the horizon starts oranges, pinks and purples streak across the sky. The ball of fire has turned to golden yellow. The chirping of the home going birds and the gentle breeze makes me calm and gives me absolute peace. It's mind boggling. The plethora of colours and interplay of light is mesmerising.

Every sunset gives us a hope of sunrise. Life is nothing but a connection between sunset and sunrise. For every sunset there is a sunrise.

The hanging chair swings me and the flowing breeze touches me like the waves kiss feet at the sea beach. My eyes come back from the golden sun and fall on my hands. I have the answer of my dream in my hands. It means the diary that professor gave me to find the reason behind my reoccurring dream.

I turn the first page.

"Hijiki I am Nikhil....

I am writing this because some words can only be written, but can't be spoken. Sometimes, our Diaries can tell what we can't."

I turn the second page.

My eyes get surprise. I find Nikhil's photo on the first page. This is Nikhil's diary! There is also a beautiful girl standing near to Nikhil holding his hand in the photo. Such a beautiful girl that you can compare her beauty with this enchanting evening. Their smiling faces express love. They look as if they are made for each other.

I turn the next page and continue to turn the pages till the last words.

My Dear Diary,

When I see her, my heart pulsates incessantly? I can't stand and sit still. I feel capricious inside my body and mind. The way she touches my heart is the way a bee touches a flower. I love to see her as many times as I see her. Her every word goes on my mind. She has an art to steal my heart every time. Her smile gives a smile on my lips too. Her antic eyes, dimples on smiling cheeks and long curly hair often makes me awake till late night. Every time I look at her, I fall in love again and again. She has become like a sweater in the winter for me. I want to wear it all the time and wish the winter to last forever and ever.

Dear Diary,

Everything that falls onto the earth is due to the earth's gravity. But you can't blame gravity for falling in love. She does this magic.

A peacock falls in love with cloud.

A bee falls in love with flower.

A lily falls in love with the moon.

Similarly, I fell in love with her.

That morning sky was filled with dark heavy clouds. The monsoon reached with a beautiful rain after the scorching heat of summer. It was much cooler and raining heavily. I took shelter under the roof of a shopping mall and waited to go to college. Droplets of moisture sprinkled onto me and wet a little. The rain drops danced on the roofs of passing by cars and I could hear the song of the dulcet rain. Listening to the pitter patter of rain I was overwhelmed, wanted to jump and dance with joy.

But I couldn't dance in the rain as I was going to college. It was my first day at college and I waited for my friend. So, I just showed my palm to the rain to feel the priceless moment and tried to hold the tiny rain drops. Then after sometime the rain stopped. The road became busy again with the cars, bikes and cycles. I came to the road and looked for my friend to come. After sometime he came on his bike. So, I raised my hand up and shook that's why he could notice and stop to give me lift. Meanwhile a girl gave me a high five surprisingly. I was astonished. She sat on her friend's scoot. I looked back at her shockingly and she was smiling. I couldn't see her face as she covered her face with a hanky. But her smiling eyes made me laugh back. I kept on thinking who she was and looked at her like a fool. And she was shaking her hand afar. She enjoyed it a lot and cheered with her friend.

Meantime my friend reached with his bike and we started to chase her. I wanted to know her. We chase them till we caught her. Finally, we caught her. Our bike was in parallel motion with her scooty. Her eyes were frightened and eyelids didn't blink. Meanwhile her friend tried to run the scooty faster, but my friend managed it. I just wanted to see her face. Who was she?

I told my friend to take the bike closer to her. And he did it finely. Then without delay I dragged her hanky from her face. After seeing her my tongue uttered only two words, " wow! Beautiful." It felt like we had met before somewhere and seemed like we were meant to be together. We stared at each other and sank in the sea of our eyes.

Meanwhile the traffic post came. The red traffic signal halted our bike and our bike was trapped in the traffic. But having this chance her friend drove the scooty faster than us and breaking the traffic rules they left us behind. Seeing them the traffic police whistled loud, but they didn't stop. After sometime she vanished in my eyes.

But my eyes were still searching for her eyes. My heart's beat started to sing for her. The time had stood still for me at that moment and it felt like I'd known her all my life. Falling in love at first sight was a myth to me until I met her. I literally felt like I was in love in that few seconds. But this first sight was not enough to calm down the storm of my heart. It needed her forever.

The traffic signal turned into green and we left for college. We reached at college around 8:00am. It was my first day at College. I pursued MBA in Institute of Management sciences, Lucknow.

The seniors arranged a welcome ceremony. All freshers were present in that ceremony. Namely it's a welcome ceremony, but actually it was a ragging ceremony. We all sat looking towards the stage who will be the next of us to face the seniors' next exotic task. Meanwhile the black glutton senior told me to come on stage. I went to the stage. A senior girl came to me and said, " You are looking innocent and also handsome. So, you have a small task to do."

I was thinking what it will be. Every fresher who came to stage only became ashamed of and a joke for others. Everyone laughed at them.

Meantime the senior girl said," You have to introduce yourself to all, but innovatively i.e. suffix all the sentences with " Ganna chooske (English- Eating sugarcane)."

Everyone started laughing. The girl stared at me and told to say it.

Then I said,

"My name is Nikhil Ganna chooske.

I am from Kanpur Ganna chooske.

I like cricket Ganna chooske.

And so on "

Everyone was laughing. Hahaha hahaha......

But among all the freshers a girl was laughing a loud. I could hardly see her face because she was amidst the girls. Meanwhile the senior girl's eyes fell on her. She told in a high voice to stop laughing. Suddenly everyone became dumb. But she continued laughing. Hahaha......(in a loud voice). The senior girl pointed her finger towards that loudly laughing girl and told to stop laughing. She told her to come upon stage. Then the girl came out from the fifth row and walked towards the stage slowly. Everyone looked at her. But I was surprised after seeing her. She was the same girl whom I met in the morning. She was one of us. She got admission in the same college. She came slowly towards the stage having a little fear in her eyes. She was looking beautiful in the college uniform. Her every step towards the stage made my heart closer to her heart. The violin of my heart automatically started to make tunes.

The senior girl told her, " come fast."

She came and stood near me.

She was asked to repeat the same task. She had to introduce herself like I did.

Then she said in a low and sweet voice,

" My name is Barsha Ganna chooske.

I am from Kanpur Ganna chooske.

I like singing Ganna chooske. "

Again, the whole class was laughing. I also laughed a little.

I was surprised. She belonged to the same city. She got admission in the same college. We met just before some hours ago, but felt like we know each other a years ago. And now stood together on the same stage close to each other. Perhaps the destiny wanted to unite us.

The welcome ceremony ended with giving her to me as an unforgettable gift.

After that ceremony we became friends.

She came into my life like a blanket in the winter evening and like the warming sun in cold morning. She was like the torchlight in the foggy evening making a straight way to my heart.

It was 1st January, 2015. The New year day. The whole college celebrated the New year. Aniket, Sachin, Nitesh, Poonam, Shilpa, Barsha and I became a group in that day. We together collected money and bought gifts for catering boys who served us foods daily in the college canteen. We reached at canteen in the afternoon around 4:00 pm. Like every day we sat on our favourite dinning at the corner. The canteen was decorated with varieties colours of balloons and flowers. Rohan the catering boy greeted us " Happy New Year " giving chocolate to each of us. We gave the gifts to the all catering boys and greeted them the new year wish. All canteen staffs and we gathered and cut cake and celebrated the new year. Everyone was very happy and smiling. Meanwhile Aniket surprised us. Our eyes were on Aniket. Aniket knelt down on one knee holding a rose in front of Poonam and proposed her. I whistled a loud. Everyone cheered him with a loud voice, " Aniket, Aniket ...." and clapped to encourage him. Poonam was also astonished. Her eyes were full of with happiness. Without delay Poonam accepted his proposal and took the rose. Then they hugged each other. Intermittently I looked at Barsha. She was smiling and cheered them. I wish I could tell her my heart's words in that day. But I thought it might be too early. I was looking into her eyes again and again in her ignorance. Her cute smile made me happier. She was looking adorable in navy blue and white printed straight kurta. She was pretty like a tiny girl. I wanted to play with her shiny black hair and to hold her hand tightly and to become happy and smile together.

The afternoon came to an end and the sun had packed its bag to go back to home. The time flew in the celebration. It had been evening and we all had to leave for home. All got ready to go home. It was feeling too cold in the evening. Barsha had forgotten to bring her sweater. She had to ride scooty to go to hostel and was worrying for this. Meantime Barsha told me, " Nikhil, give me your jacket."

I happily gave her the jacket. She put it on and told, " come and sit behind my scooty. I will ride and it will feel less cold to you. "

Everyone was looking at me and teased me with their eyes. Aniket told in my ears, " what's going on between you? "

I replied, " Nothing, shut up your mouth."

Then I sat on Barsha's scooty. She dropped me at our chowk that comes on her way.

The next morning, we met in the college. She wore my jacket.

She said, " I will not return this jacket to you anymore."

I replied, " Actually it looks more beautiful on you. "

" Then you forget the jacket ", she told smilingly.

She kept the jacket with her and never returned it to me.

The jacket made us closer to each other.

We became best friends after that. Most often we hanged out together. Together we attended the classes and sat close to each other in the class. Together we went to canteen. When one of us remained absent, the whole class asked about it to the present one. My eyes needed her always to be happy and sought her in my dreams. Her absence made me alone and her presence filled my heart with joy.

Her dulcet voice was as sweet as the flavour of honey and I wanted to listen her again and again like my favourite song.

I fell in love with her from the very first sight. Our friendship searched for a moment when she will feel my love for her and I will tell her, " I love you." And then it happened. The day was not so far.

20th January ,2016 was the day when the whole Lucknow was on fire as communal violence broke out in the town. I watched news about the riot on TV. The news showed the incidents of stone-pelting, burning of vehicles & shops. Hindu-Muslim clash continued throughout the day and it was impossible for us to go outside. The evening was so horrible in the town. Meanwhile my phone rang up and it showed Barsha's name.

I picked up the call.

"Hello, am I talking to Nikhil? “, asked someone.

I was surprised because that was not the voice of Barsha. Another girl was talking from Barsha's mobile.

I said, " Yes “.

" Nikhil, I am Barsha's roommate. Barsha is not fine. Come soon. “, she said.

" What happened?”, I asked surprisingly.

" When Barsha was going up the stairs, her feet slipped and she got hurt on her head. We can't take her to hospital. It's impossible to go outside for us. “, she replied.

Then at the moment I ran towards my bike. I drove my bike as fast as I could to reach at Barsha's hostel. The roads were blocked and communal violence was at its peak. But I managed it and with the help of the darkness of night I reached at Barsha's hostel. I ran to Barsha and saw its bleeding from her forehead. Her whole body was drenched with blood. She lay down fainted. My eyes couldn't tolerate this and didn't stop crying. Rioters blocked the town road which leads to the hospital. So, it was impossible to take her hospital. Then I remembered that Aniket's father was in police department.

I immediately called Aniket. He begged help from his father. His father helped us amidst the riot to reach at the hospital. Doctor and nurses immediately took Barsha to casualty. They stitched her wound and she was given saline. I sat near her holding her palm and kept awake all night.

I kept on begging near God for her speedy recovery. I looked at her again and again. The menacing night passed anyhow. The rising sun brought morning with new hope. Barsha came to sense in the morning. When she opened her eyes, she found me near her. I was looking into her eyes with tears. She held my hand and said, " I am alright. Don't worry." But I didn't stop crying. She dragged my hand holding my palm and kissed my hand and said, " I am okay. Don't cry."

Then I smiled a little and said, “you should be careful. I was scared."

" Okay Baba, I will be careful next time.”, she said.

In that morning we saw the love for each other in our eyes. The eyes can read what the lips can't say. I decided to tell her that I love her after she got well. The doctor discharged her and told to take her home.

The morning also brought hope for the town. The town was under section 144. Communal violence came to a standstill in the town. I took Barsha to her hostel by ambulance. After sometime we reached at her hostel. She came down from the ambulance and I helped her to reach at her room. she sat on her bed and said, " Thank you Nikhil for being there every time for me. "

" I will be there always for you. “, I replied.

" Promise “, she says.

I reply, " Promise.'

I sat near her and we gossiped till she fell asleep. Then I went to home.

From that day we became more than best friends. That was the moment we felt love for each other. Perhaps she was ignorant about it. But her heart knew the reason of every beat and her eyes knew whom to find every time.

From then it has been one year. Neither I could propose her, nor she could feel it.

I never proposed her because I feared that I will lose both her friendship and love if she denied. And I didn't want lose her. Who does want to lose his umbrella in the rain? And after remaining one year apart from her, I realized that once you fell love with your best friend, you can never be a friend again. Only you can tell lies to your heart.

And the days filed by and we completed our MBA. After completion of MBA, she got job in Hyderabad. We chat on WhatsApp, sometimes talk for hours on phone and make video call. We miss each other a lot. Distance can't decrease the bond of love between us. It feels like we are not so far from each other. After one year she is coming back to Kanpur tomorrow. It feels nothing has changed between us. I am going to receive her tomorrow morning at our Kanpur central railway station. And obviously I am not going to miss this chance. I will propose her tomorrow at the moment we will meet. She was saying on phone that she has a surprise for me, but before that I will surprise her. I can't wait anymore to tell her. Will she accept my love or not? I don't know. Who knows what tomorrow brings! I look at the watch (tic - tok , tik - tok). It's every second takes me closer to the much-awaited morning in my life and threatens my heart. It's 3:30 am now. Only four hours left to meet her.

I turn the next page of the diary. I find it blank. It surprises me. I turn every single page after it and find it blank till the last page. What did happen to Nikhil then? Did he propose her or not? Who can tell me about it? I will ask Nikhil. But he has forgotten everything. Yeah, professor. He knows everything. I will meet him tomorrow. I wait for the morning like Nikhil. I have never awaited morning like this. Let's see what morning brings. But what about my dream. I think I will see the dream again tonight.

The very next morning I reach at the professor's office. After a little conversation I ask about Nikhil.

" Sir, what did happen that morning. “, I ask.

" Oh, you read it “, professor replies.

"Did Nikhil propose Barsha?”, I ask.

" I don't know “, professor says.

"Then who knows “, I ask.

" Nikhil “, he replies.

" But he has forgotten everything “, I ask surprisingly.

" May be his dream is the answer that you find. You should ask him about his dream.”, he replies.

" Okay. But Sir, what about my dream? I saw it again yesterday night. What is the answer of my dream? “, I ask.

" Your Mom. Because a mother knows everything about her child.”, professor replies.

Getting the response from professor I leave his office in search of answers to our dreams.

The sun comes down to hide itself behind the far horizon. The setting sun and the shiny clouds makes the evening more delighted. And the blowing wind makes it cool and pleasant. And like every evening I sit in my hanging swing chair looking towards the flying birds at the horizon to find out the answer of my dream. Meanwhile my mom comes and sits near me. I rest my head on his shoulder and it makes me calm and feels like the first touch of rain in the summer. Mom can feel my tiered mind. She caresses my head and says, " What happens to my princess."

It gives me the utmost peace and I reply, " Mom, a dream comes into my sleep and it doesn't let me sleep."

" What did you see in your dream “, mom asks.

I tell her everything that I saw in my dream. I ask mom about that little girl & her parents.

Mom stands up and hold my hand and says, " come with me. "

We go to her bedroom. She tells me to sit on the bed. Then Mom goes to the almirah and search for something. After few minutes she comes with a photo and shows it to me and asks, " Do you see them in your dream? "

I surprise and look it like a dumb. My eyes can't believe it. Professor was right!

we see real faces of real people in our dream that we have seen during our life but may not know or remember.

Meantime Mom breaks her silence and pointing her finger towards the photo says, " she is my sister and he is your father. And the little girl is you. They are your parents."

Mom's words surprise me. I cannot accept this truth. They are my parents!

Meanwhile mom says, " Then you are a three years child. You and your parents were going to worship Kashi Viswanath temple. And suddenly a truck hit your car. Unfortunately, your Dad and Mom died in the accident. But fortunately, you survived. You are a blessing of Kashi Viswanath "

I sleep the whole night holding the photo close to my heart and My mom hugs me the whole night and caresses my head. I sleep a long time after many nights in my mom's arms without watching the dream again.

The morning comes with a new day. The sun rays thorough the window awakes me. Meanwhile my phone rings, " Titanic remix - my heart will go on. " I keep it listening and doesn't pick up the call. The phone rings again and it shows Nikhil's name. I pick up the call.

" Good morning, Aditi. “, wishes Nikhil.

I say good morning.

" What are you doing? “, he asks.

" Sleeping “, I reply.

" Wake up. It's 7:30 am right now and you are sleeping. “, he says.

" Yeah it's a long and deep sleep”, I say smilingly.

" Are you going to college? “, he asks.

" No, today I am not going “, I reply.

" So, can we meet now? I have to say you something. “, asks Nikhil.

" Umm ... okay. But where? “, I reply.

" In the park near your home ", he says.

" Okay, I am coming “, I say.

The winter is at its peak in Lucknow. This is one of the best seasons to visit Lucknow as it is cool, pleasant and the perfect climate for sightseeing. And the morning walk in the park is one of my favourite hobby in winter. I go on morning walk daily to the park. I leave bed and after few minutes we meet at the park.

We walk together and talk with each other.

" You want to say something “, I ask.

" Yes, my family has shifted near to this park. And we can meet here daily ", replies Nikhil.

" Wow, it's great. “, I reply.

" Do you know? I didn't see the dream again. After many days I slept a long time. “, I say.

Nikhil feels happy for me.

We sit on a bench. Nikhil plucks a flower and gives it to me. It makes me happy. We smile looking at each other.

Then I ask, " If you don't mind, can I ask you something? "

" You can ask me anything ", he replies.

" What do you see in your dreams? “, I ask.

Nikhil smiles.

" Please tell ....an “, I request.

Nikhil says, " She is in my dreams. "

" She! Who is she? ", I ask surprisingly.

Nikhil replies, " A beautiful morning that I have been waiting for years. I look happy like I have never been. I take my car keys and twirl it on my finger singing a romantic song and walk down on stairs to reach at my car. I drive my car to receive her at the railway station, but before that I stop my car along the roadside at a flower shop and buy a rose for her. I reach at the railway station. I wait for her train. I look at my wrist watch again & again. I wish I could go ahead of time to meet her. The station has crowded with passengers, but my eyes can't see them & become blind with hustle and bustle all around and only search for her. It's such a long wait! Suddenly I hear the announcement of the arrival of the train. And after few minutes the train stations itself and puts an end on my waiting for years. The princess of my dream gets down from the train like an angel has stepped down to the earth. I run towards her holding the rose. Her eyes search for me here and there. I surprise her from back. She turns back and surprises seeing me. She hugs me and says, " You will never change. " Then she asks, " Where is my surprise?" I kneel down on one knee and propose her, " I love you. " She doesn't take the rose. My heart throbs and eyes can't believe. She doesn't accept my love& says sorry. she is not surprised, but she surprises me. She gives me her marriage invitation card. And then I see the train goes. The train horns aloud and breaks my dream and I wake up. "

" Do you know the girl you see in your dream? “, I ask.

He says, " No, not at all. "

 A few seconds silence.

A month later....

Nikhil & Aditi are going to Nikhil's house after a morning walk. They reach at a traffic chowk that comes on their way. The traffic signal turns from red to green. The bikes & cars start to run.

Meanwhile, Nikhil runs and shouts, " Hey, stop the car. " A little boy has stuck in the middle of the road. His mother shouts from the other side of the road. Nikhil runs as fast as he can. The traffic hurdles at the chowk. His loud voice can't be heard and still, he shouts," Hey, stop the car. Stop the car." But the car doesn't halt and drives towards the little boy like a stubborn bull. The poor little boy cries out. Meantime Nikhil jumps and takes up the boy in his arm safely. Nikhil fell down and it wounds on his elbow & palm. And in time the little boy's mother runs to him and hugs his son and says, " Nikhil, are you alright my son." She kisses his son and hugs him. She cleans the dust from his shirt.

I look at her after listening Nikhil's name from her. His son's name is also Nikhil. It's miracle. I can't believe my eyes. She is the girl in Nikhil' s diary. I rub my eyes again surprisingly and murmurs, " Barsha! ".

The woman stands up and turn back towards us. She looks at Nikhil and her eyes also get surprised. She thanks him for saving his son. They meet after a long time. She recognises Nikhil and stares at him astonishingly. Both look at each other. A long silence. Perhaps their eyes know each other’s eyes. But Nikhil has forgotten everything and can't remember her.

She says surprisingly, " Nikhil! "

Nikhil can't recognise her and tries to remember her but he can't.

Nikhil says astonishingly, " Do you know me? "

She says, " I am Barsha! "

Nikhil murmurs, " Barsha....away...mum "

" Your best friend “, she says.

Nikhil tries to remember.

I stop her and ask to come with me.

I say, " Nikhil had a car accident. He has lost his memory in that accident and has forgotten past memories."

She looks at Nikhil. (Nikhil talks with her son and gives him chocolate.)

She says, " Do you know? Nikhil is like God's gift to me. Once he saved me by putting his life in risk. And now he did the same and saved my son. He is always with me in my bad times. Yes, he is there always. He has kept his promise. "

I smile a little and say, "Yes, he is."

I ask pointing my finger towards the little boy, " So, he is your son? "

" Yes, my son. His name is also Nikhil “, replies Barsha.

I say, " Nikhil! "

" Yes, I name him Nikhil after my best friend's name. They both are my life.”, She says.

" What's your name? “, she asks.

" Aditi “, I reply.

" You are so pretty. “, she says.

I thank her.

She asks, " Is Nikhil your boyfriend? "

I smile a little.

She asks, " By the way you have a great choice. Nikhil is the best for you. "

I look at Nikhil and try to find me in his eyes. He looks at me and smiles. He indicates, " The little boy is now happy and they have become friends."

Barsha & I smile looking at them.

And in meantime, Barsha's husband reaches us. He thanks Nikhil for saving his son's life. After that, they sit in their car and leave us. Nikhil looks at Barsha. He is trying to remember her.

I don't know he recognises her or pretends to forget her. He looks at the car till it goes very far and vanishes.

And after few minutes Nikhil & I walk towards Nikhil's home.

After some steps, we stop.

Nikhil says, " I think I have met that girl before."

" Maybe “, I reply.

He looks at me.

" Maybe you have forgotten “, I say.

" Maybe. But sometimes it's better to forget someone than to remember “, he says.

"It's hard to forget someone who gave you so much to remember “, I reply.

" Yeah, but I am the luckiest person in the world. Because I have forgotten everything “, he replies.

We both smile looking at each other’s eyes.

" Hahaha... Bahahaha... "

" Will you forget me someday? “, I ask looking at his eyes.

He holds my hand, looks into my eyes and says, " I will never forget you. You will always be in my heart. Now, tomorrow and forever. "

I hold Nikhil's hand tightly. I see the love for me in his eyes.

" Do boys propose like this? “, I ask.

He smiles & says, " Of course not "

" So, what was that? Propose me as you see in your dream. “, I ask.

"Kneel down. On one knee. “, I order.

" Everyone is watching at us. What are saying, Aditi? “, says Nikhil.

"Kneel down. “, I again order.

" Okay, okay. Cool," he says.

Nikhil kneels down on one knee.

" Now take this rose & propose me “, I say.

Nikhil smiles take the rose and say, " I love you. "

I take the rose and hug him tightly.

" We should go now “, says Nikhil.

Then we hold each other’s hand and start to walk towards his home.

After few days...

Nikhil & Aditi meet in the park-like every day.

" I don't see that dream from some days. I think I am alright now.”, says Nikhil.

" Then what do you see in your dreams these days? “, asks Aditi.

" I see you in my dreams “, says Nikhil.

They both laugh looking at each other’s eyes.
