Children were happy with the news of 21 days lockdown. They had completed an annual examination. They deserve some rest.

Parents are not happy so the school and the teachers. Everybody wants to complete the syllabus. We are in hurry. Hon. Prime Minister appealed for 21 days lockdown in order to prevent the spread of COVID-19 and for the well being of masses. Rich or poor, Developed or developing countries are equally facing this pandemic. Some schools have asked their teachers to prepare worksheets, whereas some others suggested a series of exercises, a few more over-enthusiastic teachers are sending recorded lectures and I have also suggested a few learning app or games. Children are very confused. They are thinking that it is better to go to school and attend 6 to 8 periods a day. Situation under lockdown is worst as the teaching community wants to complete their 210 working days within 21 days. This is really Horrible. I strongly believe that the children are having their best time at home. They are discussing with their parents, This is called Happy childhood days which was taken away from them and They were forced to rote learning,

I am very lucky and fortunate to be working in an institution which is fully supportive and involved in well being of its employee. The company is providing groceries, milk, vegetables, and medical support to all employees. I am very happy to see the professionalism and determination of my staff. They are involved in and they have opted for some professional development course. Prime Minister explained the reasons to the public for imposing these 21 days of lockdown calling it harsh but needed to win the battle against this pandemic.

When will our system apologize for children? When can we create happy schools, happy teacher and ultimately happy children?

Some of my students are posting videos developed by them on COVID. The good effort certainly but I saw a group of people walking on railway track without water and food. They have lost a job or they were not in a position to survive with family in big cities. What is disheartening for me is that of small children walking with the parents, no food, no shelter and painful too. We are a country that gave shelter to all, but we are unable to take care of our own people. We are not in a position to provide basic necessities and shelter to our own people. Of course, this is totally different scenario, however, I am waiting for Achhe Din for the children of every nation.
