Cool Dad

Well, here is a story which will leave you awestruck.

There was a girl named Mala. In her school days, she was quite popular as she participated in all the extracurricular activities. Though she was naughty yet every teacher had her picture etched somewhere in their hearts.

Mala and a boy named Anmol became great friends. So kids used to tease her with his name. She didn’t mind that. It was all part of her daily fun and frolic.

One day Mala got her Slam book to school and all her friends were filling it. They all sketched ‘AM’ on each and every page of the slam book. In between the lecture, Mrs. Naiyar, their Maths teacher, noticed a group of last benchers giggling. She went up to the seat and saw that they were filling Mala’s Slam Book. She snatched it from their hands and scolded them for not being serious during the class. She opened the Slam Book and saw ‘AM’ sketched on it. She asked Mala what did that mean. Mala openly said Anmol and that her friends teased her with his name.

The teacher became furious and said that she lacked good upbringing and blamed her parents for raising her like this. Mala rebuked. She right away told her not to say anything wrong about her parents. This was a huge blow for Mrs. Naiyar.

She immediately asked Mala to call her parents the next day, while she will report the matter to the Principal. Mala was all scared. She explained the entire scenario to her dad, when she went back home.

She went off to sleep in fear of what was going to happen the next day. Meanwhile, her dad had a plan. He searched Mala’s cupboard for another slam book. The entire night he was copying everything from the slam book caught at school, into this new one. He tore off the former slam book.

Before Mala got up, he went off for work. In the recess, her dad was called. He went to the principal’s office. Mala was already there, frightened. The Principal asked him what was the matter, Mrs. Naiyar had complained.

Mala was shivering that what would her dad say. But this was the time to execute the plan. He took out the slam book from his pocket and handed over to the principal. There was no ‘AM’ sketched on it. He told the principal, that they were just filling the slam book, they are kids after all. They can have some fun.

The principal agreed. And told her dad that Mala is a good girl just little mischevious. But that’s alright, it is their age to enjoy. She asked Mala to go and join the class.

Mala was surprised to see what her dad did. Later, her dad came out of the office and crossed Mala’s class. He winked at her! Mala was so relieved. She was happy the entire day. Her dad is really her HERO!
