Clarity of Confusion
Clarity of Confusion
If confusion is the first step to knowledge, I must be a genius.
-Larry Leissner
Have you ever got confused? As a child, I was always confused. To give you more insight into the story of my confusion I hereby take you guys to a confusion ride. Ready?
Ever since my childhood, I was constantly doing reverse engineering at the sub-conscious level and as a result people think that am a confused kid. I "act and learn" instead of "learn and act". In doing so, I miss the order that is actually to be followed. While learning car driving, I hit the reverse gear, damaged the bumper and now am a perfect driver.
This confusion bud started in my head when I was a kid. Subjects Mathematics, English, and Social were always confusing to me. Anything beyond 10 used to bring shrills in my spinal cord and mathematics is full of numbers. If you ask me to tell 13, 17 or 19 table, I quit. Numbers have a peculiar role to play in our lives. I still cannot establish a logical reasoning in matching the moral standards of people to that of the value of the numbers. Ask me why? I don't understand why people shift their attitude in treating you from giving high importance when you rank 1 ( low value ) in school to giving you the least attention if you are drawing low work pay check. A broken heart and an empty wallet will teach us the life lessons.
Language English is tricky and tiring to learn. Whenever I put in my constant and conscious effort to learn the
language, I end up confusing a bit more. A girl is a girl. Girl meaning: a young or relatively young woman ( Source: Google ). Then why do we have these words like spinster, lady, Miss... Am confused. Vowels A, E, I, O, U create next level confusion. What comes first- "I" or "E" in the word believe? I believe it is not the believe what I believe is right but the other believe, I beleive. Am confused.
History is full of memory game . I was forced to memorise the important dates, names and locations. Why do these kings always declare wars over the other kingdoms resulting in increased stress levels for the kid who was 10 years old? Why is it necessary for me to remember when the battle of Plassey had taken place, for how many years Mandela got imprisoned, how long was river Nile, height of Bhakra-Nangal dam. Why?
This constant weight of confusion trauma that I was lifting on my shoulders came to an end recently. I got married. All the confusion issues were sorted now. I became perfect in tables cause my wife loves shopping. I understood the meaning of a girl and a woman. Understood the importance of usages-Prefix or suffix. "I love you" universal mantra without the word "Baby" decides the day of a husband to be good or bad. I now respect my Social teacher Subbalakshmi, English teacher Alivelu and Mathematics teacher Mangatayaru even more who made me realise the importance of memorising dates and days, tables and usage of grammar that am currently using to impress my wife.
