Chapter 1- The Dream Kit

The city square was unusually crowded with people of different age groups scattered around. Joe was driving past the crowd in his sedan as he was returning back home. His customized brown suit reflected his personality and gave him that upper crest. The determined eyes indicated his stubbornness and his fast reflexes showed his alertness. The city square was at the heart of the city and it was the place where most of the fundraising events and political meetings were held. The events were associated with larger corporates and would be reflected in the weekly journals a month in advance. He said to himself," Maybe I would have missed out something in the month's work tension." He wanted to step out and have a look at what is going on and he was searching for a place to park his car. The parking alley was completely occupied and after a struggle, he managed to get his car parked. He walked past the crowd near the daise where the organizers were addressing the audience. Generally, events hosted in the City square were attended by special guests invited by hosts and he had rarely seen the general public. He recognized the man seated in the leftmost seat in a blue suit as the Mayor. He had seen him on the television and newspapers quite often and once he had met him personally regarding his work. He was in a dilemma whether he knew the person seated next to the mayor. People were frenzy behind him trying to get an autograph and click snaps with him. His flair for seeking attention and his extraordinary complexion made Joe realize he might be some film celebrity. He wasn't into movies and so he was ignorant in recognizing people from that sect. There were few sales executives from that company whatever so, that was organizing this promotion event for their product. There was a huge banner that read out something like this," Here is your chance to relive your dreams in virtual reality" and it had a list of all the sponsors and contact information concerning their services. On the corner, there was a temporary outlet that was selling the product and there was staff assisting with the purchase activity. Joe walked towards one of them to enquire about the product. Joe got to know that their product comprised of a VR glass, a band, and a mobile application that would be installed on your device. The band has to be worn while you go to bed for sleep and it had a sensor chip inbuilt that records sensory responses and signals of the brains and process it into a high-resolution video.

This high-resolution video would be transmitted to the mobile device wherein the mobile application access the video and the developers at the backend work on a unique game for the individual to relive the dream as a character in virtual reality. Thereby this product develops a connection with the inner self and helps us to understand our conscience. They had surprisingly good discounts for the initial purchases. Joe had the habit of gifting Shiny, her sister's daughter, a unique gift on her birthday every year. He knew she loved playing games on her mobile and he found that this would be something surprising for Shiny. After having bought that stuff he went up to the parking alley to get his car. He was driving fast as the wind slapped his face and made his long hair tousled. He wondered how technology had a transit. He was playing his video list through the active contact lens as he saw the images moving vividly before him. He pressed the pedals a bit harder and the sedan whirred past the highways at a top-notch speed. Mobile games or PC games have shown tremendous development in terms of creativity and imagination involved let alone the technical aspects. The possibility of capturing dreams has made mankind reach the epitome of success Joe imagined the world would. He reached the house and was waiting by the door-side for Shiny or the Baker to open the door. The door was attended by Shiny and she hugged onto him with a gleaming smile. After kissing her on the cheeks he presented his gift to her and she was overjoyed with the gift. She hugged him once again and thanked him for the surprise and went upstairs to her room. Joe wanted to get himself a good refreshing bath and then go for dinner.
