One day, At Moorti museum, Aarush and Suchi were admiring the newest Radha-Krishna pair made. It was 3.5 feet tall, it was the best pair made by the Moorti museum. Goddess Radha had a nice Gottapati pattern sari, Lord Krishna was wearing a nice yellow silk dhoti, The border of both sari and dhoti had a nice blue, green and purple colours symbolling peacocks. Goddess Radha had gold and flower jewellery, she had a crown made of gold and it had a flower boundary. Lord Krishna had gold and silver jewellery with a gold crown and a small ruby in the centre. The pair had their signature pose, Krishna playing bansuri and Radha’s head resting on his shoulder. The cost of the moorti was Rs.5,00,000.

“If anyone is going to sell it, that’s going to be me,” said Suchi.                              

“We’ll see to it,” said Aarush.

Aarush and Suchi were always competing who can sell the most mortises. They both joined the store almost at the same time.

Just then a man arrived, he was wearing an orange dhoti and kurta, probably in his 60s. He had a long grey beard, his name was Suresh.

When he entered the Moorti museum, he saw Radha-Krishna pair, he made up his mind to buy it.

“Hi, how much does it cost?” asked Suresh

Aarush took one look at him and says “Sorry but no offence but I don’t think you can afford it, it’s for Rs 5,00,000.”

Suchi on the other hand deals with the client politely. “Sir this moorti is for Rs 5,00,000, It is made from Makrana marble.”

“What is the best price, you can offer”, Suchi replies, sir this is the best price as we deal in best quality makrana marble with finest of carving.

Suresh says please give me 20% discount I’ll make a cash payment. Suchi was a little curious as the person really wants to buy it or just doing window shopping. Aarush was a little rude, he bluntly replied, are you really going to buy it or wasting our time. Suresh got annoyed by Aarush’s reply and says, I think you should learn to speak with your clients. Suchi again takes the charge and politely says sorry for Aarush’s behaviour. She further quotes please let me talk to my boss and ask for the best price. She calls her boss and narrates the whole incident and also mentions about a 20% discount. Boss replies, Suchi we can’t offer a 20% discount instead we will not charge for packing and transport and we will give a 10% discount too.

Suchi brief all the talks to Suresh and says Sir, my boss never gives any kind of discount to anyone but he agrees for you, believe me, you are getting the best deal. Suresh agrees and says when you can deliver the idol? Suchi replies sir within 4 days. Suresh agrees and paid 10,000 advances and says rest of the money will be paid before delivery at your showroom only. Suresh leaves the showroom. After an hour a rich looking couple enters the showroom and was welcomed by Aarush. They started wandering in the showroom and struck in front of the same idol, they ask about the price. Aarush says it’s for Rs 6,00,000. The man says you are asking too much, it’s not that worth if you can offer a better price we can buy it right now. Aarush says, Ok I will give you a 10% discount. The couple offers Rs 4,00,000 and takes out cash. Aarush feels happy by seeing the money and says, Sir let’s make 5,00,000 and I will deliver the idol to your place. Suddenly Suchi comes and she hears the whole talk, she asks Aarush to come in a corner and says what’s going on, we already sold this idol to Mr Suresh and got 10,000 advances. Aarush says, are you mad, he is giving 4,00,000 cash and the deal will be closed on 5,00,000, we will return 10,000+ some more money to Mr Suresh and believe me he will not go to take delivery in 4 days as he is not having the money. Suchi says, “STOP IT”….. We never did this nor we will do it in future, our store has got a good reputation because of our good business ethics. Suddenly Suresh enters again, Aarush says, You came back to take your advance back, it is ready with us, take it right now. Suchi scolds Aarush and says, learn some manners. She greets Suresh and says, what more I can do for you, sir? Suresh says I would like to buy 1 Ram Darbar too, show me the best one. Suchi confirms the size, whether it should be the same size of Radha-Krishna or you want some change? Suresh replies, it should be same. Suchi shows him the best piece and the cost of the set was Rs 8,00,000. Suresh loves the set and pays total balance money Rs 12,40,000 in cash. Aarush stunned when he saw 12,50,000 cash from a person whom he thought will not be having 12,000 money with him. He was feeling ashamed of himself and he was in deep guilt. He apologizes to Suresh and says, Sir, I am really sorry for my behaviour please forgive me and whatever more work you require I will get it done from the best artist. Suresh happily says, no, no it usually happens with me, whatever the idol is, I like it that way only. Please deliver it safely. He gives an address and says, please deliver it over here and if you can install it on the pedestal that will be the best offering by you. The Address belongs to a village temple. Suresh while leaving give Rs 11,000 to Suchi and says keep it as a blessing from me he also gives 11,000 to Aarush and 1,00,000 for the artist of the moorti, He further quotes “Please give this money artists involved in making these idols” and he leaves the place.
