Akbar - Birbal
Akbar - Birbal
Abu Al -Fath Jalal al-Din Muhammad Akbar known as Akbar , was a great Mughal king of Umarkot from 1556 to 1605 .
He had Nine Jewels, called " Nav Ratna " in the form of his Advisors / special Assistants to him in his Emperor and Birbal was one of them. Birbal is known for his intelligence, wisdom, and quickness in finding the solutions to all problems. He used to prove the innocent person with his special skill.
So he was not just an Advisor of Akbar but he used to take him along to places and had given a special place in his life. Many real stories about the duo of "Akbar Birbal " are still famous as they were passed on by villagers from generation to generation by word of mouth.
Once Akbar and Birbal were taking a stroll in King's garden in the morning. Akbar saw one crow in his garden and wondered as to how many crows are there in his kingdom. Akbar asked Birbal to answer this as he knew that Birbal always has answers to all his doubts.
So Birbal said after some thinking that they are 85,7,69 so Akbar was amazed to know his answer but then he asked that, " if they are more than that ?? " So Birbal said, " then that means Crows from neighboring kingdom must be visiting.
Then Akbar said, " if they are fewer than that ?? So Birbal said, " that means some Crows must have gone on vacation to the neighboring kingdom. " Isn't that funny? And also an intelligent answer ????
This is about a conversation between Akbar - Birbal. There are many such cases, incidents where Birbal has given Justice to villagers from Akbar when they had come to ask for justice to the king.
One such farmer bought a well from a rich man in a village so that he can harvest crops in his farm and his problem about water is solved. After paying the amount to the rich man, the next day farmer goes to the well to fetch water, so the rich man stops him saying, " you have paid me for well and not for water in that. " Farmer feels like he is fooled by a rich man. Now he directly goes to the king's court and asks for help and justice.
When Birbal comes to know about this, he call the rich man also to the court, in front of Akbar and also that poor farmer. And tell the rich man that well does not belong to the farmer , as per you water is yours, which is wrong but still if you are saying so then take out all the water from well now and empty it.
Rich man realizes his mistake and the wrong thing he was doing to the farmer. So he assures the farmer that well and water all belongs to the farmer now and assure Akbar - Birbal that he won't cheat anyone in the future. And apologize for his mistake.
This is how the Birbal was, intelligent, wise, funny, and good and so was the Akbar-Birbal duo.
