Broad streets swept away with narrow lanes, she begged at every door for shelter. Knocked at each house but none of the people replied. She collected some piles of woods and made her hut. Although, it has many holes for the sky to peep inside. But she held her nerves.

Gradually, people tried to understand her and she too the people. Many, who were in bad condition, started convalescing. Agnes' love and care healed the people.

Everyone started loving her. But one day when a woman tired of her drunk child scolded him a lot and threw him outside. He knocked at every door but nobody listened. She fell to the ground, in front of Agnes house.

She lifted him. His heavy body was dragged by her with a lot of difficulty. She sprinkled some water on her face. The man tried to respond but his hunger for food demolished his effort. The Agnes had nothing to eat for last few days. But her guest or his newly born child was at her door. She could not refuse.

She spread end of her saree and demanded some money at the main street. A rich man came to her and showered pity by not offering money but spitting his saliva. Agnes who once was respected by everyone, now got the shameful treatment.

Tears sprinkled from her eyes and she tied his saliva into a knot. In return, she thanked him. The man became perturbed. She raised her hands, cupped them together and asked for money for her children. The saliva was for her.
