A Past Life Journey

Charu was not in her best state of mind. She found herself battling with several questions- the significance of the sword, Sheryl’s wish for a mountain name, and her resemblance with Sheryl. She had one source to get the confusion clear. She visited Uncle Vincent’s house and came to know that he had suddenly left for Egypt. How could he go without informing her? She asked Ruth, the son of the caretaker Martha to provide the contact details of the uncle. She was in a hurry as her inner storm was hard to be calmed. Ruth couldn’t understand her urgency and asked her to wait for a little and called his mother Martha. The moment both Charu and Martha met, something unexpected happened. Martha began trembling, called Charu as Sheryl repeatedly and fainted. Charu was so frightened that she left the place and reached home as a restless being.

Ruth asked his mom what made her scream. She was still in shock. She couldn’t believe the dead could come back. She was just 24 years old when at her master’s house she witnessed cruelty done by a stepmother on a 10-year-old girl Sheryl. Sheryl’s mother left her for a heavenly abode when she was just five-year-old and her father remarried to provide his daughter motherly love and care. Unfortunately, he was also found dead in a suspicious circumstance a few months ago. After his demise, her stepmother wanted to get rid of her at any cost. Sheryl was frequently beaten, kept starving, treated like an animal, and put in a tiny room. Martha the maid was the only one who used to talk to Sheryl in a sympathetic way. She was always there at night to apply soothing ointment on her wounds and kept her spirit high. 

Sheryl often asked Martha how she could come out of that torture house. Martha had only one assurance, “Have faith in God. Justice prevails. The evil will be punished.” Sheryl did believe her and welcomed each new day which was always the worst form of the previous day. One day while cleaning the artifacts Sheryl accidentally broke a golden glass vase. It was a day of doom for her. She was beaten with a hot iron rod and left unattended in severe pain all alone in her room. That day she fainted and when regained consciousness she found Martha beside her. 

Sheryl wished to have a mountain-like physique so that her attacker could do no harm to her. Her condition was so pathetic that she could hardly show chances of recovery. Martha treated her with natural healing herbs and decided to help her to elope. She arranged her accommodation in one of his distant relative’s house. She did not want to bear the sin of watching silently the cruelty imposed on the teenage girl. Her elopement did not create a stir as she was not at all desired by any family member. Martha warned her never to return to the place anymore.

Martha’s relative didn’t have any child. So beautiful Sheryl entered as an angel. Her entire life was changed. She was highly pampered, sent to a school, taught various art forms, and she had collected beautiful memories. At age of 18, she fell in love with Anthony Delsworth who was madly in love with her. Sheryl began forgetting her bitter childhood and lived in present. She was regularly in contact with her saviour Martha and Martha was extremely happy for her. Sheryl had a brother in law Vincent who was her strength too. Both the brothers vowed to protect Sheryl every moment in all possible way. Anthony bought a Sword and posed with it so that in time of need family could be protected. At age of 20, Sheryl met with an accident and died. Vincent moved to Egypt. There he built a business and later Anthony also joined him. 

What Ruth just heard from his mother was completely shocking for him. How a girl Charu was Sheryl and destiny brought all her past relations together! He was the only one who knew the past life of Charu. He decided to meet her. When he reached home Charu was in her room. He met her father who was disturbed also to see the ever-deteriorating mental condition of his daughter. She had interpreted reality abnormally. She was hearing a voice which repeatedly said her to come home She yelled hysterically and requested someone invisible to stop calling her Sheryl again and again. She cried out loudly that she was not going any other home. He had consulted a psychiatrist who had suggested bringing Charu to the clinic as early as possible. She might be developing symptoms of schizophrenia-like hallucinations, delusions, and disordered thinking and behavior. If she wouldn’t be treated quickly, she might be having a serious mental disorder that could impair her daily routine. He had to convince Charu to visit the clinic. 

Ruth wished to help Mr Mani Oomen and narrated all he had heard from his mother. Mani couldn’t believe her daughter was undergoing so much stress. Both Ruth and Mani went to her room and saw her closed her ears tightly with palms and tried to stop noise to enter. Soon she began throwing things. They held her, offered her water and the medical doctor had given it to Mani. It was a sleeping pill. They said the maid to take care of Charu and went to meet the doctor. Ruth explained everything to him and he suggested through hypnotization he could know how much Charu knew about her past life. He needed Mr Vincent too so that Charu could be treated properly.

Charu woke up normally and asked for tea. She had to contact uncle Vincent about the questions disturbing her. The maid brought tea and asked about her health. Soon Mani entered the room and showed his concern. He requested her to meet a doctor to relieve the stress. The death of grandmother had created anxiety and she needed some counseling. Charu couldn’t see her father so disturbed. She uttered what happened to her in the museum after reading a book. She also revealed she was just clueless about what was happening to her. Mani convinced her to visit the doctor. Through past life regression therapy, she could be recovered soon. 

The doctor asked Charu if she wished to get answers to all the questions she had. She nodded in agreement. She was then suggested to surrender the doctor’ voice and instructions. She was first asked to remember the moment when she was very happy and calm. She at once mentioned the moment when she had spent a beautiful evening with her father. That moment she was at the utmost peace of her mind. That memory relaxed her and she was prepared to visit her past life. The doctor comfortably led her to her past life and asked her to narrate what she was visualising. 

That two-hour session answered all questions. She was relaxed and thankful to Martha, uncle Vincent who were saviours and still present to protect her from dangers. She paid gratitude to them and thanked the doctor to pull her out of mental illness. She has prescribed some medicines to relax her mind and since then she didn’t hear any voice because she knew about her past life story. Sheryl was a brave girl and blessed with good people around her. Mani too visited Martha and Mr Vincent as they were now his family. One evening Martha was invited for dinner. She arrived with Ruth. 

At Charu’s home, she once again cried with utter surprise, “How could this happen?”

All asked her what new revelation she was to make. She answered Charu’s mother had exactly the same face as Sheryl’s mother. 

Charu and her family accepted the fact that we live many lives and due to karma we meet the same people in different lives in different ways.
