A Glance Amidst The Pandemic

The pandemic hit hard on everyone, the schools got shut, no more working in offices, no trips, no hangouts. We were left to live in our comfort zones, atleast that's what most of them thought. When we start to get used to a schedule and if that gets messed up, we tend to lose grip on ourselves and on our lives.

This is what happened to me I was stuck in the enclosed room where I had to attend my classes, where I used to have my lunch and even sleep. So it felt like I didn't have a connection to the outer world, it felt like I was detached from the world and now I just lived in my own world, and that too by myself. 

At times like this, we crave attention and that's what I did... I felt a connection with a guy who was supposed to be my neighbor, yeah u can call him 'the guy next door. I didn't even know he existed until the lockdowns hit. 

One fine day I was just looking out of my room window and I saw a guy standing on the neighbor's balcony, he wore a white shirt and it looked like his hair was just washed and it was dripping water. It was a beautiful sight but I just got embarrassed staring at him, so I hid behind the door but I guess he saw me peeking at him. This continued for a very long time, I used to steal a glance in his direction here and there and he used to do the same. Finally one day he waved his hand and said 'Hii', and as usual I didn't respond, I shut the window. I was too afraid to talk. But eventually, I started responding to all of his 'Hiii' and now I talk to him every day, I don't know when this will continue. Maybe I'll forget about him once the lockdowns are gone and everything is back to normal. 

But I just got to know one thing amidst this pandemic that I've got to live this moment, and shouldn't postpone it because you might never know what lies in the future. And yes he was my connection to the outer world from my own lonely world.
