A Box Of Wishes

There lived a fisherman in Diwanpur village. He was very greedy and lived in that village with his wife and three children. His wife was very nice. The fisherman was so greedy that if there was any function in the village, he would sell his fish at the highest price, and sometimes even the fish were stale. No one in the village liked him because of his attitude. Not only the people of his village but also the people of different nearby villages did not like him.

One day he went to the river for fishing, and he did not catch a single fish in his net. He became very sad. This trend continued, and he could not catch even a single fish for a whole week.

He became very sad that day and started thinking. Perhaps he was facing these challenges as a result of whatever he had done to people. One day, he went for fishing. There was no fish in his net, but a box was found near the river. He started thinking about whether he should open the box or not.

After some time, he opened the box, and there was a letter inside the box. It was written in the letter that he could ask for two wishes. The fisherman was really confused about which of the two wishes he should ask for. The fisherman asked for a genie. Within some time, a genie appeared in front of him. Seeing this, he became very happy.

The fisherman first asked the genie to build a big house for him, and the genie granted the wish. When the fisherman realized that he could do everything with the genie, he asked the genie to do many good deeds as well as very bad deeds. Even though the genie did not want to do bad things, he had to do them because his owner was the fisherman.

One day the fisherman sold a lot of fish to the villagers at a higher rate, and when one of the villagers scolded him for this, the fisherman became very angry at him and ordered the genie to kill the man for him. When the fisherman gave this order to the genie, he heard the sound of crying children coming from his house. He went inside and saw there was fire inside his house. The fisherman started shouting and crying, and he had no idea how to save his children. Then the man whom he had told the genie to kill came and saved his children.

Seeing this, the fisherman realized his mistake. He apologized to the man and told the genie to be free on behalf of the second wish that was in the box.
