You At Sixty & I At Fifty Five
You At Sixty & I At Fifty Five
Many a times I visualize
What will happen,
When you will be sixty
And I will be fifty five.
Our lives will never be the same as now
With children settled & busy you know how;
Enough time in our hand
To think & understand,
Plenty of topics to discuss
Which we had never dared to touch.
Watching movies that we missed,
Playing games where we slipped,
Scanning parts of the world
Where our mind had always wandered,
Sitting side by side
Hearing music with delight.
Chasing dreams of fulfillment
Still relaxed without commitment,
Walking hand in hand
On the seaside sand,
Eating food that we liked
Without weight gain fright.
Less dutiful & less punctual,
More beautiful and more liberal,
Less strict & less virtual,
More happy & more real.
With hands folded let us pray together
Such days arrive soon when freedom we gather!
Amen
