Mental Terrorism

Mental Terrorism

Born to be as an Indian girl,

Leaves so many stories unfurled.

Here the day girls are born

There are many who have frowned;

Though they are loved & nurtured by some

There are many who are still gruesome.

Joy & pleasure of parents they may be

But mental terrorism can't be tackled by society.

As they grow up, the level of freedom falls down,

'Don't go there, don't talk to them' is all that's gulped down.

Many a time they fail to understand

Why they have to bear such strands?

Why can't they let their emotions fly

Just like their brothers up in the sky?

Why they should be left frightened

Due to societal acts that are not enlightened?

Amidst all these feelings mature as they grow

Mental terrorism follows them all in a row;

Never are they safe as they grow old

Social bindings, mental tortures never let them become bold.

No words to conclude the life of Indian women

Who've always been terrorized & bound by a chain;

When will the end to mental terrorism come

So that girls born in India will always be welcome?
