Yes I Am Scared

Yes I am scared,

And I hate it when by the roadside I am stared;

Be it women or men

I die a little when they scan!

 

It is never a joke;

I did not do anything to provoke!

I look everyone with suspicion,

Though I ain’t on any secret mission.

 

I always show I am strong,

But deep inside I know something is wrong!

'Trust' is just another word now,

Yet I manage to trust the wrong somehow.

 

No, I am not raped;

But someone somewhere could not escape!

Everyday something flashes in the news,

But more I wonder knowing other's views.

 

It’s always 'you know who' to be blamed,

And gradually the entire ‘community’ to be ashamed!

Cannot understand what was her mistake,

In fact it was her life at stake!

 

They might have witnessed the crime,

But, they behave like its an act of mime.

They show only the level of their curiosity,

But what they lack is a little humanity!
