Winter
Winter
I'm here.
And I'll be gone soon,
before you even know it.
But before I go,
I shall do some things.
I shall sing in your ears
I shall whisper tales to the winds
I shall touch the grass
With frigid fingers
And kiss the flowers, leaving behind
Little pearls of dewy softness.
I shall ask the trees
To go to s
leep
And the squirrel
To hide away its food
I shall blast you with snow
Or tiptoe gently with my wintry sunshine
I shall bring out Christmas
And usher in the New Year
With baked cookies and bread
And sprinkle bonfires with togetherness.
Wait for me,
I will make the sun fall into a slumber
And the moon shine around clouds.
