WHEN I AM ALONE
WHEN I AM ALONE
When the sun goes down
and the moon comes in.
When the night falls in
and darkness surrounds.
When the lights are out
and my mother is not at home.
I am all alone,
and scared from head to toe.
I sit on a chair,
thinking what might happen
if a ghost came.
Half afraid,
I sit quietly in a corner
with my eyes closed, and my heart
beating fast.
I wonder what might happen
if a ghost really came.
To eat me like a sandwich or a sweetdish.
Or crunch me like potato chips,
Or bake me in an oven like a cake.
Then I try to console myself
that all ghosts are not the same.
Let me hope for the best-
That the ghost will also be the best.
