What If The Stars Were My Only Friends?

If the stars were my only friends,

I would have confided my secrets in them.

Whenever I felt low,

They would have taught me to glow.

If the stars were my only friends,

I would have sent love in return of the glitter they send.

Peeking them through my window on the gloomiest night,

And they be shining as if they are convincing me that everything is alright.

I often wonder how lucky is the moon,

that it has stars which are no less than a boon.

It is the perfect relationship of the moon and star on which the beauty of the night sky depends,

Witnessing this relationship, I wish stars were my only friends!

If the stars were my only friends,

I would have preferred to stay away from my human version of friends.

I would just ask them to wipe out my solitude without a trace,

And teach me to shine with the similar grace...
