War & Peace
War & Peace
War, like a ravening burglar,
Thieves everything from humanity.
It razes agility, serenity and hilarity,
Like the cyclone washing away dust.
We say, he's acting his part,
When a soldier is at the war front.
But, as his soma merges with soil,
Along with it'll shatter his dreams.
Rifles, mortars, grenades slay,
As if racing to burn man like hay.
Infants who are in need of peace
End up horrified by blaring blasts.
Peace, like a courteous saint,
Sows prosperity amidst humanity.
It educates us to uphold pacifism,
And to thrive, fostering humanism.
Abodes will be spry with grins,
Galas can be of the utmost zest.
Tots will snooze in mothers' laps,
Assured of the comfort they own.
With peace lingering in the aura,
The orb will gleam like a new bride.
If to select between war and peace,
Let us wave a green flag for peace!
