I'm the naked truth of your prosperous country, a faceless threat for humanity.

I'm not celebrated in posh apartments,

I reside in the roadside broken houses.

I'm the shadow of pseudo-development,

And a 'true' failure of fundamental rights.

I'm the gargling roar of empty stomachs,

And children suffering from malnutrition.

I'm the harsh misery of a pregnant woman,

Who has severe anemia, yet skips her meals.

Because her husband has just passed away,

And she has already got four mouths to feed.

Not the 'Luxury' of air-conditioned classroom,

I'm the lack of availability of 'basic' education.

I'm marginalized by the Fate,

But now marketed as a Fame!

Such a Shame!

Recognized me?

I AM POVERTY.
