War And Peace
War And Peace
This is a story of a lonely girl
Her fight for this world
Where her existence was never respected
Taking her for granted, she had always been neglected
But the narrative would be incomplete without mentioning a handsome boy
In genesis he found joy
He was strong but objectified
Constantly feared, awed and vilified
Even his shadow was considered to be a bad omen
He was indeed the greatest showman
He was darker than the night’s sky
Girl, on the other hand, shined, but was a bit shy
The moment the tormented eyes met the lost ones
Everything took an about-turn
For better or for worse he no longer cared
For all the beautiful little moments they shared
And as the prejudices of people he shoved
He understood the meaning of the word ‘love’
For her, to the extent he was willing to go
With her, old, he wanted to grow
He taught world to treat her with dignity
Creating for her a new identity
The girl also found her true-self within him
A delightful love story one might think
But without difficulties and hindrances, the fairy-tale would become boring
So here’s the plot-twist which no one saw coming
Fate had cursed them from the very beginning
Destined to be apart, they never could be together
Like yin-yang, though completing, couldn’t blend with each other
They had long-lost the game they thought could be won
They didn’t realize while one was the moon, the other was the sun
By the very existence of one, the presence of other ceased
The girl and boy were none other than infamous ‘War’ and taken for granted ‘Peace’
As nemesis of one-other forever, they had been joined
War and peace were indeed different sides of the same coin
The essence of one was to bring the other to shame
In this tangled tale, who was the moth and who was flame?
Even now, war is fighting a never-ending battle to be with his beloved peace
Be on the same page, at the very least
Even peace is tossing and turning through infinite restless nights
Clinging on that tiny ray of hope tight
So within their own defeats, they are finding solace and ease
And this is the dreadful happy forever of war and peace…
