Abstract Tragedy Others

Voices

Voices

2 mins
38

Woke up from a slumber

To a voice , whose? I don't know

I heard the window ask

"Was it you who opened this curtains

To see the world you imagined it to be ? "

"It wasn't me sire" I replied quietly

But the good old days , which seems far-fetched now

Again I heard a voice

This time I heard the door question

"Was it you who opened me with a smile ?

For the person you loved , whose name unknown"

"it wasn't me" I answered in denial

But the loneliness that made me do it

It was a crime I know

I was very naïve if you believe so...

Again a voice

This time the walls begged to know

"Is it you , whose pictures hung here

Was it you too whose laughter still echoes

Is this the picture of the person whom u lost

"It isn't us " I replied with a bitter smile

Tears blurring my vision

"It was the numerous fake promises and useless hopes that

got crushed

I thought the voices will stop

I clutched my ears with my trembling hands

This time the voice came from inside of me

"Was it you two who dreamed of a future together ?

Was it you two whose breath synced so beautifully, it became a melody ?

Does the melody haunts you till now?

Was it you who waited ? Was it him who never came?

Was it you two in the end or was it only you

Or was it no one but the memories which talked

Those question left unanswered

I will never answer those again
