Voices Within
Voices Within
In a chorus of voices, I'm tangled within,
Each advises a life, trying to win.
Father says, "Educate for a successful drive,"
Mother advises, "Balance to thrive."
Society chants, "Be a wonder woman, stride."
Office cheers, " Enjoy the work, it's a fulfilling ride."
Partner says, "Live freely, no restriction."
Daughter whispers, "Take a solo mission."
Son pleads, "Be with me, Mom, don't depart."
Amidst these voices, what's in my heart?
Time rushes, never leaving a chance,
For me to find my own life's dance.
Who decides what I truly yearn?
Amidst all counsel, what's my turn?
In the noise of suggestions, my desires fade,
Lost in others' thoughts, in the shade.
In the quiet moments, in solitude's grace,
I seek my wishes, at my own pace.
Amidst the voices, in the silent calm,
I discover my wants, like a healing balm.
