A Mother's Vigil

A Mother's Vigil

Outside the hall, my heart skips a beat,

Anxious thoughts, a restless seat.

Her dreams, her hopes, in an institute lie,

Two years of toil, beneath this sky.

Missed occasions, sacrifices made,

Pressure mounted, yet she stayed,

Focused, determined, through it all,

Her dream, her passion, standing tall.

Anxiety struck, a recent foe,

As a mother, it pains me so.

Reflecting on my maternal past,

Her strength, her growth, went by so fast.

From infancy to a teenager's grace,

Each phase a joy, a cherished embrace.

Eager now to witness her bloom,

Awaiting her amidst the exam room.

In the crowd of students, she'll appear,

What's next for her, what's there to fear?

A simple wish, a prayer for grace,

To see her smiling, her determined face.

A journey unfolds, a story yet to be,

Her growth, her stride, for all to see.

As a mother, outside this hall I wait,

To embrace her joy, her determined fate.
