21 years have gone by,

Like 21 minutes of our lives,

Do we remember this day?

The day our threatened freedom was restored.

We lost a lot,

Matyrs with families at home,

Who never asked a thing,

Just a piece of "The Flag" to cover,

When they come back to finally rest.

Our doors were threatened, 

By neighbours so very friendly!

By deceipt,

By cunning.

They went down,

With shells in their skulls,

And the slogans,

"Yeh Dil Maange More."

They fought for us,

Who don't spare them a thought,

Who sit at home,

And Comment,

On the need for a war,

When our doors were attacked,

By neighbours so very friendly!

Just spare a thought, 

For those who laid their lives,

For us to lead ours.

Just spare a thought, 

Do we really need "reel life" heroes,

To comment on this day,

When we have "real life" heroes,

Who laid their lives for this day.

Let our friendly neighbours,

And the Dragons with their fires,r

Keep standing at our gates,

Seeking a chance to enter them,

We still stand tall,

To beat them all,

And claim what is ours.

And celebrate this day,

For "YEARS TO COME".
