Untrodden
Untrodden
You’re the hero of your own magical tale
A wanderer ready to roam
And over turbulent waters you set sail
On a path untrodden unknown
You can be a silent stone on the riverbanks
Gazing idly and languid on the side
Or a pilgrim passing exciting lands
As you sail on Life’s even tide
Will an impossible dream fire you
Or will you be just waiting in a queue
And will that quest slowly tire you
Or will you someday see it through
Will you run away from unspoken truth
The dead past buried and dead
Or will you atone for the sins of youth
And thus purged, forge ahead
Spread your wings like an eagle and fly
Don’t look back don’t ever turn
Life is waiting in that glorious sky
And there’s so much yet to learn
Let the mirror reveal a face unbroken
Through the unforgiving cracks of time
Leave nothing undone unspoken
Inaction is always a crime
Arrive at the evening with a lustrous song
The sunset, a blaze of glory
And all those who know you sing along
A virtuous and triumphant story
Of receiving and selfless giving
Of a life of dignity and grace
Of honour and love in equal parts living
And always keeping the faith
