Kids they were when she fell for him,

Turned out to be a love story so grim!

Best friends they were all their youth,

A long later both realised the truth!

First time they dated was an unusual one,

Lunch with friends from which turned out none!

He loved her was then his heart's call,

She never expressed she wanted it all!

Sorting out all differences that cropped and piled!

Joy again made its way and it had no bounds,

He was a coward who traded love for his gain!

He did not have the courage to tell her the truth,

That he couldn't stand up for her without feeling ruth!

But as we know it, fate had a different plan,

His unfortunate cheat story she discovered, from her clan!

Shattered she was like broken pieces of a mirror,

Still holding herself strong for her family who were dearer!

Numb she was till she realised one fine autumnal day,

Her love was nothing but UNREQUITED LOVE all the way!
