The faithful deceit...
The faithful deceit...
There she stood in her own sorrow,
In the hope of a better tomorrow.
Bit by bit she straightened her crown,
Letting go of things that made her frown.
Focus on herself was her way,
Life then blossomed, everything she slay.
In search of integrity her heart wept deep down,
Someone faithful for whom she would don the wedding gown.
The divine providence had its way and she found her match,
A tall, dark handsome lad seemed a fair catch,
Times of marital bliss then began,
Staying happily with her new clan.
Her happiness was then short lived,
The burden of chores made her writhed,
Insults then followed by,
To which he turned a blind eye.
It was no fault of his own,
Enduring pain and neglect he had grown,
Benefit of doubt was always given,
With some etched memories unforgiven.
The sacred blessing then took a turn,
She came to a picturesque land her heart yearned,
With the hope to strengthen the bond,
She went far and beyond.
But her hopes were then dashed,
Fate had her one more time lashed,
He was like a fair-weathered friend,
His deceit she could not apprehend.
Then came the fateful day,
He admitted his guilt that had caused dismay,
A month of wrath then began,
Anxiety,hospital checks and scans.
She loved him too much to leave him in distress,
Supressing her emotions, she eased his stress,
Affected she was in ways no one could anticipate,
Triggering her first panic attack till date.
She was shook to the core,
She wanted to cry, she wanted to roar,
Time had tested her yet again,
Tall like a tree she stood in face of the hurricane.
Trust was broken, dreams shattered,
Remnants of her pride tattered,
No vows can bind a marriage,
But tenacious she was and summoned her courage.
Choosing calm over sorrow,
Strictly adhering to the straight and narrow,
She gathered herself yet again,
Trying to keep herself from going insane.
Then came another blow,
Departing from her job, she hit the all time low,
He tried to help in his own way,
Causing more stress everyday.
Quoting she has done nothing for him in the past six years,
Just focusing on herself and her peers,
His words cut her deeper than a knife,
Making her rethink her entire life.
Vulnerable they were with each other,
Uncomfortable talks one after another,
Realising this was another test of life,
With god she lay her strife.
Marriage is not a bed of roses,
It's beautiful and fragile with challenges it poses,
With commitment, love and support then sworn by,
The faithful deceit bid it's good bye!
