The alleyway is dark

The shadows are stark

The noise is deafening

The crowd is maddening

She stands in a lonely corner

There is no soul beside her

As the crowd approaches near

She can feel the crippling fear

She wants to run far 'n' far

But her legs have no power

In vain she stretches

out her hand

But there is no one

who can understand

She waits 'n' waits

for someone to hold
