TWO TYPES OF POOR
TWO TYPES OF POOR
With their feet bruised and bleeding
Hundreds of them walked struggling
Load of bundles on their head, kids in hand
They walked in the blazing sun on and on
Some collapsed in hunger, others fell too
Due to the strain of long restless walks, illness
Yes, they were the helpless poor migrants.
No one gave them some food or water
No place to sleep, they slept on tracks
No one bothered as they got crushed by a train
No Netha shouted nor came down to protest
But, today hundreds of them, who are supposed
Poor farmers, suffering due to new Law
Loads of food piled for them, milk and fruits
AC truck, and loads of blankets, comforts
And the hypocrite public here to support,
Crocodile tears of the election lost politicians
Yes, the truth can never be changed
The glaring difference between the two
One with a tractor, another even without a footwear
The pavement poor and the poor with a tractor.
