True Devotion

True Devotion

The young one had tried,

Without thought,

So I could not succeed.

The older had tried,

With the flames, he had fought,

Yet, unsuccessful was he, in this deed.

So helpless was the little creature,

So pitiful was his state,

Nothing could make the pain abate,

Not even his loved ones.

For only the one who,

Served the nation,

Understood the meaning of,

True, devotion!
