'Tree'ly Yours
'Tree'ly Yours
To my dearest human friends,
Hope you all are well,
Wow, '#nature' is trending these days!
Makes me happy, but is it worth it?
To cry with that unbearable pain,
When the ax hits us?
A soul or two passes by me,
Their kind touches are all I need.
Some, though, have showered their rudeness,
It hurts, but you are my children,
And parents' love is beyond what hurts parents.
However, my tree-friends have paid for this,
And I have watched them silently,
Make their way to heaven, muttering a silent obituary.
Today, in my deathbed, as I sit and pen this,
I request you to save my dying friends from this viciousness.
Yours lovingly,
A dying tree.
