Transition
Transition
The house was full of chaos and drama when she was around,
Now it's just another piece of the hushed plot.
Every day was a day of oval-shaped Rotis
Now she can cook for mankind.
She was her father's princess,
Now she occasionally sees him.
Fighting with her brother for the front seat in the car was her favorite memory,
Now she has learned to adjust and settle for everything she's got.
She has to take care of the society and her family when,
All she had to take care of, was her pretty dolls.
She used to argue about every little thing,
Now she has learned to be quiet.
The only fear she had before was the separation from her mother's sari,
Now she has fear of everything. Everyone.
She tries to feel confident in this suppressing world.
But deep down she knows how hard it is.
She has got responsibilities to fulfill, chores to be done,
Equalize with her partner and do everything
To escape the cause of shame in society.
She has to leave her loved ones and
Find happiness in someone else's family and make it her own.
She has always been like this. And will always be.
