With age, comes wisdom,

With travel, comes understanding,

For my part, I travel not to go anywhere, but to go,

I travel for travel’s sake,

The great affair is to move; to feel the needs and hitches of our life more nearly;

To come down off this feather-bed of civilization,

And find the globe granite underfoot and strewn with cutting flints.

Your true traveller finds boredom rather agreeable than painful,

It is the symbol of his liberty-his excessive freedom,

He accepts his boredom,

When it comes, not merely philosophically, but almost with pleasure;

Make your vocation your vacation,

That is the secret to success,

Perhaps travel cannot prevent bigotry, but by demonstrating that all peoples cry, laugh, eat, worry, and die,

It can introduce the idea that if we try and understand each other,

We may even become friends;

When overseas you learn more about your own country,

Then you do the place you’re visiting,

Life isn’t about finding yourself,

Life is about creating yourself,

Doing what you like is freedom,

Liking what you do is happiness,

Travelling – it leaves you speechless, then turns you into a storyteller,

There’s a sunrise and a sunset every single day,

And they’re absolutely free;

Don’t miss so many of them.

A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step,

Do not follow where the path may lead, go instead where there is no path and leave a trail,

I am not the same,

Having seen the moon shine on the other side of the world,

I am not the same, having seen the moon shine on the other side of the world,

Man cannot discover new oceans; unless he has the courage to lose sight of the shore or to transit the world.
