Spring of life

In the spring of life when a babe is born

Mother cradles, lifelong love is sworn

Springing forth each year…new changes 

Testing boundaries, pleading exchanges

Memories created, replays for the parent 

Their love will blossom, this is inherent 

The summer of life heats up after spring 

A love affair for living this season brings 

A hot sweltering sun gives life energy 

Powerful the elements, creating synergy 

Romantic desires and flames are fueled

Pushing limitations, testing the rules

Seasons change again, and then comes fall

Ideals and aspirations, like trees, grow tall

Like the breeze that carries fallen leaves

Gentle on the mind, lessons received 

Time to ruminate, on failures and falls

Learning from them, wisdom now calls

The culmination of seasons gives way to winter 

Weathered and aged, life now splinters

Reflections of life, from icicles, now hang 

Songs of the heart, from once lips, sang

Cherishing thought of seasons gone by

The pain, sorrow, elation, and joyful cries

Love triumphs over heartache and strife 

In the changing weather, the seasons of life.
