To Dance
To Dance
Humming softly, I spin on my toe
the music numbs me.
It numbs me, unlike the fragrant snow,
which chills me, not letting me go.
Not letting me go, not letting me slip
into a dark abyss
bringing a slight tremble to my lip,
masking the sharp dismal hiss.
The hiss; piercing my ears
tearing me apart, your voice.
Surmounting all my fears
I make the reckless choice.
The choice, to dance.
To dance, amidst the heartless frost
Until awakened from my trance,
and until each memory be lost.
