Time Is Ours To Lose
Time Is Ours To Lose
With trembling hands and restless feet
They, at once, emerge from the burrows
A dense air of anxiety surrounds
Them poor reluctant minds
Their hearts quiver at every whisper
That claims the time isn’t too far
What has been destined since long
Shall today, unfold at last
Amidst the dissonance
For awhile, they shut their eyes
To seek the courage that is overdue
When a voice, resolute and firm
Rises from deep within
“Neither yield, nor retreat!” it murmurs
For the fear is momentary
And this moment is a-passin’
Louder it grows, with every breath
Driving away the panic for good
And into the unknown, with newfound valor
They dive, roaring “Now or Never!”
To live each day
In doubt and dismay
Ensnared by the past
And ever-frightful of the future
Is a dear life spent in vain
A treasure wasted for naught
The time is ours to lose
The moment is ours to seize
The lesson is ours to learn
And the wisdom is ours to gain...
