Three Blind Mice
Three Blind Mice
Behold the rodents, absolutely blind,
Are they running lest they be left behind?
Their worth undermined,
Will the world be kind?
The roads defined by a mastermind,
To such grind one unquestioningly resigned,
While the heart adamantly pined,
For some wine divine.
Oh ye humankind, recall to mind,
Thy spirits are unconfined,
Your paths, you defined!
By intruders, they cannot be maligned.
There were only three that were blind,
In the nursery rhyme that we chimed.
The ways of rats and men now aligned,
The joys of life sucked out of your kind.
Wake up! Don’t lose your mind.
Enjoy the journey as the days remind,
Of the dreams and passions your spirits enshrined,
And the footprints that you leave behind,
To embrace the nightfall in tranquility, to be with the Divine.
